First of all, make sure you are really chubby. Does the doctor say you are chubby or normal? Don't be too extreme as you are still growing.

If you are overweight there are no short cuts to "get thin fast". Nothing worth having comes easily. Once exception: if you are fat from constipation then kiwis or watermelon may make you "thin fast". But, you weren't really overweight then, just constipated.

I thought I was fat when I was 14 and went on a diet. I have long arms and short legs and my health isn't good. I think it is because I went on too extreme a diet too young and my legs didn't finish growing.

If you really do need to lose a bit of weight the best diet is the one my grandfather used. It's called elbow exercises.
When you've eaten enough you push the plate away and stop.
Perhaps this sounds silly but it worked for him and he made it to 102.
It has worked for me because I've stayed pretty much the same size from age 18 to 41. Avoid fat and fried things (not totally but minimize) and avoid sweets.

And, of course, it's best to exercise because it's healthy and it burns some calories but never as many as you would think. It will give you muscle tone though so that over time you may be less chubby even if you weigh the same.

Staying away from sweets and sweet Coke is an easy way. But, you can have a small bit of sweets and still stay thin. But, make sure you know the calories of the item. Some "small" sweets could be 1/3rd of your caloric intake. And, fried things have more fat and calories than you might imagine.

Most important is "how do you feel"? Do you move around freely and feel comfortable? Are you healthy and happy? Some people were built to have womanly figures and not be twigs. Make sure your expectations are realistic. They say that men like a woman with "a bit of meat on their bones".

Do NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT take pills to lose weight. Weight management is a way of life. Popping pills should not be a way of life.

My first suggestion is to be patient, this will not happen "FAST". I know, I've been there, and have faced the same thing. What I suggest is the following:

* Eat more fruit and vegetables, mix it up.
* Learn what a portion size is
* DO NOT deprive yourself of meals. Depriving oneself of meals
triggers the body to "immediately" store what you feed it as
fat (a defense mechanism because the body does not know
when the next meal is coming - so it stores it as fat).
* Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Two small snacks in between
breakfast and lunch (i.e., an apple, a banana, etc. The snack
should be healthful not large)
* Water, water, water. At first you will be using the bathroom alot.
That's okay. 60% of the times we think we are "hungry".. our
body is actually "thirsty". Drink water with each meal (a large
glass, drink water with each snack, a large glass, drink water
throughout the day. When your body realizes it is getting
hydrated consistently it will start to release the water it holds on
to (much in the same way it stores food to fat if you don't eat
properly)
* Next, some form of exercise. I'm not saying go out and run
marathons or hit the gym 2 hours a day. The simple act of
walking 30 minutes each day will do it. And you can break that
30 minutes up. 15 minutes here, and 15 minutes there.

This will take time, and it will take discipline. Do not think of it as a diet. I say if you always DIET, then you will what? Well, take away the T in DIET, what do you get? DIE. Don't stress and kill the body. Learn a healthy lifestyle now and in time, in time, not fast, your body will change and adjust to reflect your positive changes.

Also... you are 14. Your body is still growing and developing. Things will shift over the years. I was very short when I was a sophmore in high school. Between my 10th grade year and my 12th grade year I grew, and this is no lie, 8-1/2 inches. Yes, 8-1/2 inches. For a girl this is alot of growing, and with growing comes body changes. Be patient, don't rush things and most of ALL be proud that you care enough about yourself to make the changes so you do not fight your weight most of your life.

Good Luck to you.

You're still young and growing... you will lose your "baby fat" as you get older. Don't diet the traditional way of counting calories and working out at the gym five days a week... just try to make healthier meals and snack choices (maybe tell your mom that you want to learn how to cook healthy meals for the family with her), and be as active as you can - walk around the mall with your friends, join a sport at school, etc. And don't kick yourself for having that sundae with your friends, either. Just don't do it every day. It's all about moderation. The extra weight will come off gradually.

It is great that you want to better your self-image, but I don't think you need to get into the habit of counting your calories and being on a diet because someone your age shouldn't have to deal with that stress. I am sure you are handome, and don't let anyone tell you or make you feel otherwise.

I was a bit chubby in high school, and I think I would have had a better time if I wasn't always focused how much weight I needed to lose. When I stopped restricting my diet and began eating in moderation and being more active in everyday activities, I found myself losing weight without even trying, and I was much happier.

Eating healthy, natural foods...lean meat, eggs, whole grains, fruit, veggies, nuts, seeds, etc...Cut out processed foods such as cookies, chips, white bread, anything fried.....eat small portions several times a day and lots of water. Don't eat 3 hours before going to bed.

Try to get some exercise in at least 5 days a week....This could be anything you enjoy doing. Walking, jogging, riding a bike, basketball, tennis, jump rope.

Whatever you do, don't try and lose the weight real fast with pills or by starving yourself! It won't work....Whatever you lose this way will mostly be water and muscle weight and you will gain it right back...You're only 14...You have a long life ahead of you. Just start making small changes now to be happy with your weight in the years to come.

Good luck!

It isn't healthy to lose weight fast or take pills, especially if you are 14! Studies show that people who lose weight quickly also gain it back. So the best thing to do is lose weight gradually and steadily through diet and exercise. This might sound boring, but it works. Also try to eat more healthy fruits and vegetables rather than greasy chips and sugary candies. Drinking more water also helps lose weight. At first your body will gain weight, but after one week of drinking water, your body will adjust and the weight will come off! plus water makes your skin healthy, and helps get rid of acne. By adding a few hours of jogging or running to your week, you can burn a lot of calories. If that sounds boring to you, why not get together with a bunch of friends for running at your local park?
Good luck!

Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way we have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.

Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat. Your right,
No pills, No throwing up, No TV, No Computer, No video games, No keeping your feelings in (go to your room and have a good cry about everything you dont like)
Then, take a shower, eat a good meal (fruits, vegies, lean meat, grains, fish etc), take a long walk and have some laughs with your friends.
Keep up the activity every day. Go bike riding, walking, skating, climb some trees, dance!!, ....
If you keep in your feelings...you'll gain.
If you stay inside and dont move...you'll gain.
If you dont have some fun....you'll gain.
If you dont feed your body good nutrients, you'll binge and ...you'll gain.
Lots and Lots and Lots of water!!!
Good luck and stop thinking about it!...go have some fun!!!

Depends what part of your body that you are chubby. A fast way is to start running, situps. But Its really hard to get skinny fast it takes time at least 3 months If your 10-15 pounds overweight.

The best way is to take it slow....the weight will more likely stay off that way. First thing is to stop drinking soda, then just cut back a little on what you eat. You also want to get exercise at least 30 minutes, three times a week.
