Try to imagine that Britain was victorious in the war that freed us from their oppression and still had the 13 colonies under their rule. While the rest of America was free and functioning as country, Brittain repeatedly sends troops into border free states and attempts to "stretch" their countries boundaries.
I think we'd be fighting them as hard as the IRA is fighting Britain and Palestine and Lebanon are fighting the Jews.
As far back as I can remember, the Israeli's have looked at the area (given to them by Britain/U.S.) as being "not quite enough" and have attempted to impose their rules and restricitions on the Lebonese and Palestinian citizens.
Try to look at the situation from the point of view of the citizens of the countries that Israel is attacking. Don't let our American propaganda cloud your vision.

they must value their standing within the community more than they value their children, otherwise why don't they strap the explosives on their own bodies. actually, they con other people to allow their children to be used as martyrs. they offer them money, and these other people take it and let their children die. i guess that shows who is the most capitalistic of the two countries. here in america, when our children die fighting for freedom for OTHER COUNTRIES, their parents don't get paid, they just lose their children. their children died because they did not believe other children should die. these other countries should honor the love young american soldiers have for others that made them go and fight for their freedom, instead of allowing the terrorists to just keep using their children as suicide bombers. we don't brainwash our children and make them think that their parents will get money, have a better life, or that they will die as a martyr and get a palace and some virgins. they go because they want to make the world a better place for others. palestinian leaders are not about the people of palestine, or religeon. they are about politics, and being at the top of the ladder, because they get money to lavish on themselves.

I don't think it happens in today's world because PLO is recoginsed now by most of the countries in the world, moreover it is removed from terroist list.
