its a way to make old people buy their beds.

When you make a bed, some folks like to pull the top sheet down over the comforter a few inches, as a contrast element. And as a woman, I like to know that the bed is pretty under the comforter as well as on top.

To get people to buy them. And admittedly, it does make vacuuming the matress- well, less burdensome- when I'm deep-cleaning my home. It's a psychology thing.
