The parable of the Good Samaritan talks of a man whose people are enemies of the Samaritans. Yet when the man is beaten, his people wouldn't help him. Along comes a Samaritan (his people's enemy) and helps him. I think there are people like this, and not just individuals but groups. Like Mother Theresa's religious order "Missionaries of Charity". They help people, sick, dying or abandoned, no matter if they are Muslim, Hindu or Christian. that, to me, is the parable of the good samaritan being put into action.

I do understand the story but that was then, and this is now. If a person was to go to assist an injured, naked man by the side of the road, he would probably be accused of trying to 'roll' or rob the victim, or in fact to have caused the injuries inflicted. The blame culture in this world has now gone mad for if the modern day Samaritan was to give first aid and something went wrong, he would have a law suit to answer. If I see someone injured on the side of the road of course I would assist but I would telephone the police and ambulance service first............

Yes. I know the story of the "Good Samaritan"...
But I do not like it ... You can't GIVE all the time.
In Europe are (too) many people living from
other people's money. They do not work,
they are arrogant and they just say: "Help"...

(... and in fact there are some stupid people who give,
instead of saying: "Go to work! U have strong hands,
U look healthy, so · D O · something !!!")

The Story of the "Good Samaritan"
— Der Barmherzige Samariter — is a nice and
moving story, but it is just a fairy tale ... Amen.

Jesus' parable of the good samaritan has sparked the desire to do good to others. But the primary reason He spoke of the good samaritan was to answer the question "who is my neighbor?" (He had just spoken of loving your neighbor as yourself) and also to reveal the hypocritical actions of members of the elite in His days. A priest and a levite, both supposedly holy and pious religious leaders were not concerned enough with a fellow Jew's obvious suffering to help him. But a Samaritan, a hated member of a different race, chose to help the Jew in his time of distress. Jesus' intent with this story was to reveal true holiness, true obedience, an obedience that was some earthly good. Helping others was the action he chose to illustrate this obedience to the true heart of God's laws.
Luke 10:26-37.

If each person just practiced the actions of the Good Samaritan one time a day, it's impact on the world would be drastic to the nth - and then if each recipient practiced the effects would be world altering!

I try to, as a woman I am sometimes very cautious of strangers. But I try to give to every man that asks. I challenge one guy who approached me in a Drugstore parking lot because that seems to be a new ploy for panhandlers. But I continued the conversation with the gentleman and let Him know that I was cautious because of Where he was. and that I would speak with Him when I came outside.

I was planning to drive over with Him to a gas station across the street and fill His tank but not give Him the money for the gas.
But when I came out he had moved on. seemed like he felt guilty.

Check out 2nd Kings 6:8-23... It's along the same lines, only better...! It's about loving our enemies in a tangible, easily seen way...!

Yes I am when I turn it on. Sometimes we are so caught up in our own life that we don't really see what is in front of us. Some days I ask God to use me, when I do , I am aware of my surroundings and see with new eyes. There was never a day that I asked that the opportunity did not arise. Turn it on!

doesn't seem that difficult to understand, the good Samaritan showed compassion, the same way we are to show compassion toward others in need.
