Any widescreen TV (HDTV). Which is the best one is a matter of taste, and you will get as many opinions as responders. Look for yourself and decide. One thing to add: many DVD movies are shown in "original aspect ratio" (OAR). The aspect ratio (width to height ratio) of HDTV is 16:9; however, many movies are filmed even wider than that, over 2:1. In order to not crop off any part of the picture, the orginal aspect ratio is retained by having black bars at the top and bottom of the picture. This is like the letterboxing you see when widescreen movies are shown on the older 4:3 aspect ratio. So getting a widescreen TV does not mean the end of letterboxing, but the black bars at top and bottom will be thinner on a widescreen TV.

Philips Plasmas automatically adjust the picture size to eliminate the black bars from widescreen formats such as DVDs. No other TV in the market offer that feature. This prevent burn-in if you watch a lot of widescreen content.
