My entire extended family lives about 2 hours south of Syracuse. They get six feet of snow about every other winter. No kidding. Summer will pass by in the blink of an eye and it's freezing by Labor Day. Taxes are high there, sales tax is around 8%. People are really nice, though, and I really enjoy being up there. They have the best dollar stores in NY Upstate.

I guess it depends on where you live now, and what you desire out of life. Could the person you met move to your area? It's funny cause I'm going through the same exact thing right now with my girlfriend. We've decided to visit each others states a bunch of times to decide, which one of us will be moving.
By the way are you a Trini?
