I was born and raised into a Christian preacher's family of the Southern Baptist persuasion, left home and married at 20 and didn't go anywhere due to the nature of the relationship and had my Daddy's sermons sent to me on tape. Divorced. Went to my Grandfather's church which he pastored also Southern Baptist, played the piano for them until after my son was born. At the age of 26 I became a Christian in a small Southern Baptist Church. Having moved into a community that the only Southern Baptist church was upper class and much too large for my rural girl ways, I joined a Missionary Baptist church and there is a difference and have chosen to stay within the doctrinal teachings of the Missionary Baptist Church - however, church attendance has become a privilege as health has not been my friend. So, I've learned more and more that the real joy has not been in how much I can do within the church, but how much relationship and time I can spend with Jesus Christ and just let the Holy Spirit guide and direct in my life. There are teachings that I have learned are manmade in all "organized religions" but when living in Spirit and Truth relationships with Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit, it is truly a relationship and any "work" I do isn't work at all, just a small way of saying thank you, Lord.

baptisted Catholic, First holy communion, confirmation.
No religious beliefs as a teenager, liked to read about astrology and things of that nature.
As a young adult married in Catholic church.
Believed there was a power greater than me most of my adult life but did not attend church.
Had a spiritual awakening three years ago, the holy spirit came to me and now I have no doubts about Christ. I have nothing but love for my fellow human beings and for Jesus. It is like falling in love so deeply you almost can't believe it. My family and friends are dumbfounded as was I when it happened, but happened it did. I am now a practicing Catholic. I am now finding out the world does not look kindly on Catholics. Even from other christians. This is where I am on my journey. I don't know where I will be tomorrow or next year. life is funny that way. Peace.
