I started this two days ago. I went to a wedding yesterday and talked with lots of relatives. They included believers, non believers, gays and probably everything in between. I hugged them all. I feel such love for them. Can anyone relate?

To lindazgardner I did not mean that as a prejudice. There are gay people who believe and don't believe but there are many people who don't care and separate them into their own catorgory. It is even a different catorgory in this website. But point taken. Next time I will leave that part out.

thought i would share this with you , its very long so please forgive the long post but please take time to read it xxx and love to you

There was a soul whose time had come to take a human birth, and so it went to the great cavern in the infinite void where all such souls went. In the cavern there were hundreds of thousands of souls, each manifesting as a small blue flame.
When its time came, the soul stood up and said, ?my time has come to take human incarnation, for I have work to do and many lessons to learn. In my life as a human I shall need a family and loving friends to help me, to love me and to nurture me. Who will be my friends and family on earth?
A ripple flickered across thousands of flames and shortly, a few stood forward and said, ?we do not know you, we have not met before and are strangers, but being kind and giving love is a pleasant and easy task. We will be your friends and family on earth?.
The soul spoke again and said ?And on earth I shall need teachers, people to guide me, to correct me and to discipline me. Who will be my teachers??
Again a ripple went around the assembled flames, and a group came forward and said, ?We have known you in other lives and we have grown to respect and like you. We will take on the task of being your teachers in life?.
And a third time the soul spoke and said, ?And on earth, If I am to learn the greatest lessons of all, the lessons of humility, tolerance under provocation, and love to those who hate me, I shall need enemies. I shall need people to hate me, abuse me, and do violence against me. Who will do this for me?
Who will be my enemies??
There was a long pause in the cavern until at last, a small group came forward and said, ?We are your soul group. We have known and loved you over aeons of time and your growth and learning are as dear to us as our own. This is the most delicate and difficult of tasks and if you are to be hurt and abused, it is better done by loving friends.
We will be your enemies on earth?.

I did yesterday - as we had unexpected visitors - always a pleasure - so far my conversations this morning have been limited to you guys on yahoo! No one up at my household - and I must admit, I enjoy the peace and quiet too! The last time I was in such a varied crowd was my uncle's funeral and I hugged them one and all, knowing there were those who do not hold to my convictions, even those who have relationships with Jesus Christ as I do, but because I'm divorced do not believe that I will go to heaven, but when their son announced he was gay, they disowned him, for me, he's still my cousin and so his companion - I don't approve of his lifestyle, but I sitll love him and I'm not going to disown him as my cousin just because I believe he has chosen a wrong way to live. In-law gatherings can be touchy - they are northeast-midwest yankees and are not the touchy-feely kind, I'm all hillbilly and we hug and kiss everybody - so I can see them almost running like flees off a dog when it sees the Flee-dip coming! But I case them down and hug them anyway - my granddaughters love the hugs and that's what really matters! I"d always heard how uptight they could be- never would have believed it - I had no clue my husband wasn't a hillbilly just like me - until he suggested he introduce me to his family - (prior to our marrying). I was excited, he had just referenced they lived up north - I didn't know he meant UP NORTH. They are all I had hever heard bad and more so - but then he's got a couple of Aunts and some friends that we just have a blast with -so I do enjoy our visits - just not as much with his immediate family - I'm a ragdoll in a porcelain doll shop - and that's how I'm treated - but then that's not respectful - just factual - so my husband was thrilled when I did his geneology and we found that a great-Aunt that is never mentioned had settled within 8 miles of where we are! He knew there was a reason it felt like home - family had already plowed the ground here! My grandma is from the same state only more to midwest - she's not anything like they are - so it's probably more to do with upbringing and "class" - we were too poor to have class - but we were sure rich in Jesus and family and love!

I'ts called positive affirmations ...I would have said unconditional love, had you not labeled and seperated gays, and non believers, as if you had done some extrodinary thing...to hug a gay person. now when you can hug the world, and everyone in it. without prejudice...you will find it an even more rewarding feeling

Yes! Here's what it says in one passage from the Bible about respecting other people.

"For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. James 3:7-10

I do!!! Sometimes though, from hubby's family, they seem astounded when a person hugs them or acts like they genuinely care. I care! I love them all and wish them all the best.

Have a nice day full of hugs!!!

Thanks for bringing this to the table again. And lets keep bringing it . (I love the world hug answer :) ) It is a very simple thing but has a profound truth. If we could get everyone to do this, all the wars would stop!

Love and Blessings and lots of Hugs,

Everyday at work I make it a point to say something nice about a patient so maybe their stay won't seem so bad. Maybe it will help change their outlook on their health and help them heal. You never know.

God wants us to love one another. We do not have to agree with every point to belong to the body of the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. What we do have to so is to be kind with one another. That is not to say we have to accept homosexuality., we are to try to persuade them to leave that life style without being condemning..
