Yes myself. Back in the summer of 1984 I had a near drowning accident at a friends pool. I was learning how to swim. My girl friend loaned me her husbands' life jacket to wear. Her husband was quite larger than me and I was apprehensive in wearing the jacket. She assured me that I would be fine. Well to make a long story short, I was floating on my back and I went to get up in a standing position and a air bubble went in between the jacket and my body and forced my head to be below the water and my legs above the water. I saw a great big bright light. I said to myself "oh God I'm dead" and right after that I wasn't afraid of dying. I was under the water a few minutes. When I was pulled up my lips were blue. I was brought around and everything was fine.

What about you? Do you know of anyone that has had a near death experience and have come back not terrified of death?

Yes, it was me during the birth of my daughter. The doctors had to do an emergency C section, because she was too large and I already had been in labor for three days. I have a clotting disorder, where in fact my blood doesn't clot; so I need blood to be on standby. Apparently this was forgotten in the surgery, because after she was pulled out; everything in the room went from light to dark then back to light again... i felt as if i were fading in and out, from life to death and death to life. I saw people around me but all i could hear was my heart beating, and the doctors occasional yelling of "she's losing pressure", "get the crash cart", "she needs blood, stat". It was freaky but very calming. After it was over, they did a blood transfusion and I started to feel much better. Just as I suspected, when they cut me open to do the C section, I hemmorraghed horribly and they didn't have blood on stand by. Now, I am just grateful for my daughter and grateful for my life, and I try to spend as much time as I can with my friends and family. This experience also has not made me scared to have more children. Good luck with your search, hope i helped you. Peace.

me. a year and a half ago. i died 2 times. i was in the hospital. i got so sick. i was in icu for like a month. i had a weird infection and cause my lungs to go into failure. i wouldn't say terrified. not sure if i ever was though. but, i am more grateful for life and for my family and friends though. i wouldnt' say really though that is the correct wording. more of a connection to my family and friends. i guess you have to survive it to understand the feeling. but not sure if everyone has the same feeling. hard to explain. cause i don't want to share to much, cause of what really happened and how i survived. cause there is more to it then what i said. anyways, enough said i guess.
