what do you think happens to your soul /consciousness when the biological vehicle stops working

No, it kinda excites me. I can't imagine a place so perfect and the most beautiful.
When this vehicle stops working I will fall into sleep. My body will continue to sleep forever, but my spirit will leave my body (won't have to go very far) and enter a new body made for me in God's heaven.

Death can be a painful proccess to get into, but it's a dreamless sleep. You rot there for years in a grave completely unaware of time. If you resurrect, the last thing you'll remeber is dying. Body and breath make a soul. Like hardware and power make a fucntioning computer. Does the computer software float somhwere else when it goes dead?

No. On the contrary, I'm quite fascinated by it. I want to be conscious of the process of dying, meaning I want to be aware that I am dying. I want to be aware of that transition between being alive and not alive.
I am not a religious person but I know enough about the afterlife promised in the Bible for those who have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior. This is why I cannot understand why so many people are afraid of dying. If heaven is as beautiful as promised in the Bible, shouldnt we all look forward to dying and going to a place where there is no pain, hunger, injustice??

No, death does not scare me. It makes no sense to fear something that cannot be prevented or avoided.

Consciousness is a product of the brain. When the body dies, the brain dies, therefore consciousness ends at death.

I think a lot of people are scared of death yet seldom talk about it; some have deep fear; whatever it is, I think the fear is the fear of the unknown...what happens after!

A lot of real simple people after a years of struggle to solve the mystry come out with the understanding that that theres nothing to fear/worry about....its just a transition...to quote one, '...no matter how the appearance, it is peace'...but we must have faith in them to easily see this truth...

What happens if we do not have faith? we should still be able to see this but after struggling with fear. Faith removes fear...but the truth we arrive at is the same.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Death didnt use to scare me cause I knew where I was going. Since I have been out of church and fellowship with God, I worry about death now. Not scared of where I am going, but scared to grow old.

Not at all. Every living being has to loose one's life one day. It does not matter how many years we have lived but what we have done in these years is important. That will take the sacre out of you. Think what should be done as we are alive and forget about when death is going to come.

Death is just the first step. It's what happens after death that makes me wonder. Just like they say "it's not the fall that kills you it's the sudden stop at the end that does."

Body + Breathe of Life = Living soul.
the Bible states ; The living know that they will die, but the dead know not anything.
When you die the breathe of life goes back to God. Your body stays in the grave.
Body - Breathe of Life = lifeless Body

Death doesn't scare me because I believe in the True and Living God who conquered death. When Christ returns, the dead in Christ will rise first, then the living in Christ will be caught up and taken to Heaven.
