well as I was told in my younger day if I complained: " if your hungry enough you;'ll eat it. I did and I am still here! I very often used to raid the potatoes which were in a pan awaiting to be boiled and eat the potatoes raw and they never did me any harm. In fact I think we are meant to eat a far higher percentage of our food completely raw ( as we would in our "wild state" ) but we are simply becoming lazy in our modern life-styles.

Potatoes are nothing more than a root and can be eaten cooked or raw.

A raw potatoe actually has more nutrients and fiber. I grew up with raw potatoe sticks being a great snack.

You will get indigestion.

Further, I've heard that uncooked green potatoes have a toxic effect.

You must check up on this; type Potatoes+toxic in your search engine and see what comes up.

that depends if it is a red or white potatoe, the ones from Idaho are the most extreme in the effect....the potatoes from China are the best.....

Nothing you can actually eat raw potatoes. My dad used to just slice them and put salt on them. Hey, wait a minute....maybe that's what is wrong with him?
