there are many beliefs and most of them basically believe the same thing. There is only one path to God and heaven and that is believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. That He died so that we might have eternal life. And it is through this belief, faith and acceptance that we can obtain life after death and entrance into the golden city.

Quickest way to the lord? it's called acid. It comes in a plastic vile, you can put it directly on our tongue, or on a shugar cube, or sweettart. Just one or 2 hits will do ya. Thats about the closest/quickest I'v come to understanding God, but I did a lot more than one or 2 hits. Good luck with your search for the lord, but if your looking for the quick way, you're looking the wrong way and you won't have much success. For even I (Someone of little faith) know that the path to understanding is long, and is different for everyone. It takes patience, and self sacrifice. Good luck.

Gasp,
I am one of those people, who like yourself, want to get right to the bottom line, and not waste a lot of time getting there. I began my search for Truth, about 30 years ago, and studied pretty much every system of thought and practice know to mankind, religious, and other. After much seeking, and exploring, I think I have found what it is you are looking for. It is not what I thought it would be. Making a very long story a little shorter, I discovered that the religion called "Christianity" is not what Jesus came to bring us. If you want to know how this happened, just study up on the Council of Nicea, in 325 A.D. The man we know as Jesus, came to this planet, to bring us a message, that was both simple, and elegant: "The Kingdom of God, is within you". When we approach God as humble children, and invite Him into our hearts, He sends His Spirit into us, and bonds with us. We become new creatures, part mortal, part Immortal. The old values of materialism and fear fall away. Love and Wisdom, become the foundation of all our choices. We have embarked on the Path of Eternity, and we will never be the same again. I know, because I have done it. When God's thoughts, start to become your thoughts, you will not see the human race in the same way ever again. You will start to appreciate things you never noticed before, and love things (people) in a new light. Very few people will ever discover this, or do it. What a pity. It would transform our world. After you have entered into this forever relationship with our Father, you will become a messenger of this truth. It is not for everyone, although it was intended for everyone. Some, will simply not accept it. Those, I place in God's hands.

i dont feel the quickest path would take you to god .. you may get there before he arrives lol
what im really saying is that i would rather take the long slow path up the mountain , the one that takes much effort and has many different views on the way , the one that gives lessons as you walk helping you to understand that some paths are rocky and bumpy but you can get through them
and then when you finally get to the summit the view and sights there are breathtaking
i am spiritualist and love to take than long hard road over the
mountian

Let me say this first, I hope you are a born again Christian. If you are then I have to say that talking, or praying is really quick if you want to get close to God. Praising and worshipping Him will bring you closer and reading His Word will bring you to a closer level with God. There is no sure way of which is the quickest but these are the best. I hope I have helped. Just remember tell Him how you feel right now, reach out to Him and He is right there. He will never leave you nor forsake you.

I believe Jehovah's Witnesses teach as closely to the actual teachings of the Bible as anything else I have looked at and I had been searching diligently for a long time when I found them (they found me!). They not only study the scriptures and meditate on them more than any other group (both individually and together) but, they also do their best to apply them to their lives. They are still not without sin as are all other humans, but they really try. They do not kill their brothers as Cain did and they go door to door and try to show love for others by helping them to come to an accurate knowledge of the scriptures as Jesus did. Unfortunately many people, including professed Christians hate them and persecute them but Jesus said that they would. After all, the religious leaders of his day felt threatened by him as well.

Well, the "quickest" path to the Lord Jesus Christ is to be killed while you are spreading the gospel message like Stephan.
Acts 7:51 "You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you. 52 Which of the prophets did not your fathers persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the Righteous One, whom you have now betrayed and murdered, 53 you who received the law as delivered by angels and did not keep it." 54 Now when they heard these things they were enraged, and they ground their teeth at him. 55 But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 56 And he said, "Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God." 57 But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and rushed together at him. 58 Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." 60 And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
But there is only one "path" to salvation.
Acts 4:8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Rulers of the people and elders, 9 if we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed, 10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead--by him this man is standing before you well. 11 This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. 12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
