I saw a post from fiddybobs re pet sitting in wigan. I am looking for someone to look after my chocolate labrador next weekend and would be interested in more details if anyone has them.

I know the problem, we have two dogs and it can be difficult finding someone to look after them when away. My suggestion is to try out the net, there are some websites I found
www.ukpetsitter. com - they provide pet sitting services in the central UK area. They may have expanded to Wigan, it is worth checking them out.
www.petpals .com - they are similar to ukpetsitter in that they have employees (I think they franchise) that can come round and look after your pets.
www.allpetservices.co.uk - this site is a free to advertise or find any pet services including sitters. I actually registered as a pet sitter so if anyone in my area wants a pet sitter I might even get some income! Also, the category photos are fun,
The bottom line is there are some websites that may be able to find you a pet sitter. I hope you find someone.

Make sure whoever pet sits for you is trusworthy; known by someone you know or a vet, for instance. Sadly, dog theft is on the up.

ask at the vets they will have a list of people willing to dogsit...
