If we are near the end times, it's not because of constant CNN coverage of events that was unavailable ages ago when much greater natural disasters and wars took place.
What goes on now pales in comparision to WW 1 and 2, not to mention the bubonic plague that wiped out 1/3 of Europe or the Spanish flu of the early 20th century.

Yes. As in the bible, God foretold that the people of Israel will come back to Israel and that generation will see the second coming of the Lord.
Israel came back together in 1968. In the bible, a generation means 40 years. So if the calculation is correct then the second coming of the Lord would me in or before 2008.
