If a sign on the road says "Right Lane Closed" or "Left why do people insist on going into that late?

If you're driving on the highway and it is telling you there is a lane closed for construction, why do people insist on getting in that lane, is it because they think they have some place more important to be than the rest of us.

Sorry daango26 but if traffic is backed up because of construction, nobody is going anywhere quickly so your response doesn't work for me!

They are using the same (low) amount of thinking that we can all observe on this forum, with the same ridiculous questions over and over, the rudeness, the swearing and the utter stupidity; not to even mention the horrendous grammar and spelling. People, being human, will have a tendency to think that they can just do as they please; without any impulse control. Some do it because they think they are "better" than those around them; and others do it because they have no respect for themselves or others. These are the same people that I see on the roads that practically cause multiple accidents because they are cutting in an out of traffic in a dangerous way. For a split second, I always think, oh my this person is having car trouble, or someone is very sick in the vehicle...and then they pull into the next driveway or parking lot, stop the vehicle and calmly get out, like nothing at all is going on....It just boggles the mind. Guess I needed to vent about that one.......avoid the construction sites, or at least the out-of-control drivers as much as possible...have a good day!!!!

It's a math thing. You see, the closing lane will get you through the bottleneck faster than the open lane. At the apex, where the open lane and closed lane meet, you usually alternate, 1 per each turn, right? Well, if you are 5th in line, having passed all sorts of nice folks, you will be the 10th car in line. If you got over early, you have to wait while all those people who pass you alternate in. So the closing lane will be at least as fast as the open lane, but is usually much faster since so many people get into the lane which will remain open.

It is very simple, they do not have to obey the same laws as the rest of the population. They are that special breed of moron that will raise "holy hell" if an ambulance or tow-truck has to help them and the rescuers have been delayed because one of their brethren has blocked this lane. You see these special drivers will eventually move into the breakdown lane because they see the open lane and now they can drive even faster! It is amazing how quickly their brain cells are dying rapidly even as we speak. They are simple-minded fools and are selfish, arrogant, jackasses whose licenses should be taken away.

Because they like to attempt to pass all of you slow drivers before the lane actually closes. This way they don't have to continue driving behind you.

I believe it's because some people are so anxious to get to their destinations they refuse to acknowledge any roadblocks. And sometimes they're so contrary they do the opposite of what the signs may say.
