What is it with people and their pets?

Why the heck do people treat dogs or cats as if they were human? Two words, people: They're NOT! Don't talk to them unless you're teaching them a trick or feeding them or something, don't let them live inside the house (that's what doghouses are for! they'll just make a mess that YOU, not the dog, will have to clean up.), and definitely, definitely Do NOT DRESS THEM UP! Look, dogs and cats... they have this stuff called FUR it keeps them warm in winter and sometimes gives them spots or stripes or different patterns. They do not need more. Why is it that people do these things to dogs? And another thing, if someone kills a dog, why do you hear reports about it for the next three months straight on the news? Who cares? There was only one or two people this affects, the murderer and the owner, if it isn't the same person. And who made it a crime to kill pets? I mean, we hunt deer and turkey, we eat beef and pork so why isn't it a crime to kill all of them too?

And so freakin what if people leave their pets in the car with the windows rolled up. You don't want your car to be stolen and you have to stop at the grocery store and you happen to have your dog with you. You know what, I hope you do get your car stolen or something! Here's an Idea, don't bring your dog to the store, leave it at home where it can roam free about the backyard.

How the heck can a dog possibly love you? It's JUST A DOG! When a dog can make me breakfast in the morning, then I'll love him, when he can drive me to school, then I'll love him, when he goes to college, gets a good job, makes a few hundred thousand a year, then I'll love him, but until then they're just animals that crap in your home.

The only thing that makes me angry is hearing for three months that a dog was "abused" when I'm trying to watch the news finding out what is going on in sports!

You all make me SICK!!! they're animals, they belong on the street or in the woods or something! You know what I agree with the Chinese, Dogs make a good Doggie Burger! LOL!

I don't necessarily want to kill them (but I'd like to know where) I just want to know what's the big deal with their owners thinkin' they are more than human. Look if you can't potty train it, it's not better than humans, if it can't feed itself, it's not better than humans, if it can't speak, it's not better than humans.

Thank you "its your own fault" That's what I'm saying. I never said you can't have the pets, just don't go nuts being their slave while they can't speak, feed themselves, or use and flush a toilet, let alone drink out of one without making a mess.

And about all the things they do like helping firemen, policemen, and the blind, I don't have a problem with that, it's the owners who treat them like they're God or something.

It's not love, it's humiliating, I'll bet they think when you dress them up, "No slavemaster! Not in front of all the girl dogs!" How would you like it if you were a slave to dogs and they dressed you up and you couldn't tell them you hated it when they did that?

I don't need my own pets, in fact we already have like 20 birds all locked up in cages, making noise 24/7 and throwing feathers and birdseed in our food, yet my parents won't see that it's a bad idea to keep birds as pets and an even worse idea to keep them in the kitchen! Also my friend has three guinea pigs, he doesn't dress them up, he puts them in a cage outside where they can eat grass all day and night and feel safe from your stupid dogs and cats. You don't love animals, you just let them live with you and feed them every once in a while.

Why do people get up at five in the morning to walk their dogs, then walk them again at ten in the evening? First of all why walk them at all? Teach them how to play video games, then they'll be Americans, then if you do decide to walk them why not only like once a day and at something like five in the afternoon? not rediculously early or late? How stupid can dog owners be?

No they don't they bark at everything and run around wagging their tails! And no they can't stab you in the back, because they're unintelligent beings that have no opposable thumbs. and another thing if I ever abused an animal it would be to make a point to all you loser dog owners who think all this crap about "dogs are peoples too" they don't love you they just stick around for food and water.

Actually yes it does offend me because there's no way a four legged creature is better than anyone except their owners that treat them that way.

dogs might bark in ways that sound like words but their pea sized brains are too stupid to put actual words together to make a statement or a question.

I can agree with you on several points. I have four dogs. THey all live outside 'cept the cha hua hua. If it gets too cold, we may, may let her in during the winter, but I also saw that she found a nice warm spot under the shed. My dogs are there to deter anyone from going in my back yard. They are there to bark at strangers or anything going on, so when my kids are outside, I can be alerted to anything at the drop of a hat.

Long story made short. We had a cat that was mauled by neighborhood dogs....people that let thier dogs roam free. The owners of one of the dogs to it to the vet. The people there asked me if I was the cats daddy! I let them have it on that one. It cost $280.00 to get that dead cat. They put it to sllep. I could have done the same thing with a 25 cent bullet.

I like my dogs, they are good watch dogs, but they are animals and if they hurt any of my kidz, they'd eat lead.

I can tell you that my dogs get treated better then most people I know. I know that they eat better and have more toys to play with, Pets are someone that will love you no matter what, Will always be faithful (More then men). and will never leave you. They aren someone who will give you hours of enjoyment if you just let them. I even take my dogs in the pool with me they have their own little floatie that they sit on and when they want the go for a swim, All I can say is my life would be so empty if not for my dogs. SInce my husband was killed 3 years ago they have been a great comfort.

Well, you certainly wanted to offend a lot of pet owners, by your remarks, i was at first but then i realized that you are a "classic example" OF THE Neanderthal time clock going backwards,

and since you went out of your way to take a position re how pet owners regard their pets, i do not think you can say anything mean or ignorant enough to hold their anger very long, they will forget you real quickly,
because they know that if you were ever fortunate enought to have the experiences they have a nd have had, you never would say the things that you said,

I do think you received sympathy even pity from some of them including myself,,

and with that attitude you are doing a lot of great dogs a big favor by not being connected to them.

Because pets give you unconditional love.

Do you understand how powerful the word unconditional is? Not even a condition of food. You can starve a dog to near death and he will still be happy to see you and waive his tail even in pain.

Unconditional love is priceless.

You were probably bitten by a dog in your past and that may be why you hate them so much. Dogs are more than just pets. They are active members of our community, they work with firemen saving lifes, they help police, they help drug enforcement, they help the military, they are great at security. They guide the blind, they entertain. And again, they give you their unconditional love AND loyalty.

Not because one angry dog bit you or scared you when you were a kid, means that you should dislike all the dogs. They are not all the same.

Obviously, you're not a pet lover. Maybe you should buy a dog and see the unconditional love it has to offer you. I think you would feel differently in just a couple months. Dogs and cats become family members. I just had to put my dog to sleep a little over 2 weeks ago, and I'm still grieving over it. It was just as bad, if not worse, than losing a family member. That dog was always there by me, whether I was happy, sad, or mad! It slept with me. She was my baby!

EDIT: Maybe you should sit in the car with the windows rolled up in 100 degree weather. Sound like fun??

Well I'll answer this for you in my own opinion and through my own experience.
They may only be animals to you, but for us they are faithful companions who love us and will always be there for us through the good and the bad. They are like our children to us. They keep us warm at night and protect us when we're scared. They never interupt when you're telling them about your day or crying. They will never lie or stab you in the back.

I think that you should probably never own an animal because I'm sure you would abuse it.

If you don't like what we do with our animals (love and taking care of them) then get over it.




Actually, you're a very angry person....you really scare me....why is it such a big deal what people do what their pets? What's it to you? Do we offend you? Do we hurt you? Get over it! Your ignorant comments really piss me off.

I think you need a heart transplant. What is up with you? Pets are a great addition to any family. It's been scientifically proven that they are beneficial to people's health. There's nothing wrong with talking to your pets as long as you don't expect an answer back. They'd probably be depressed if you didn't talk to them. I don't think they should be dressed up either, but I disagree with everything else you said. It SHOULD BE a crime to kill deer and other animals. They may not be humans, but they bring a lot of happiness to people. I hope you have a change of heart one day. You really need to lighten up.

Do you wanna know why people dress up their pets and talk to them? It's something called love. Obviously something you know nothing about. And if you love your pet and take care of it of course it loves you. I know my three cats love me, whenever I pet them they purr really loud and roll over on the floor. And I know my two bunnies and ferret love me. You know, maybe you should get a pet. Maybe you'll understand love. Actually, don't get a pet because you'll probably end up abusing it. You make me sick.
