I had the same problem with my GSD until she was 4 1/2 months old........
The Vet advised me to massage her ears frequently and do not pet her head............

Good Luck!!!

He jsut hasn't gaoned the musculiture to hold them fully erect yet. DOn't worry, they will stand up erect with age. I have a Husky/GSD mix and when we adopted him at 10mos, the tips of his ears were still kinda floopy (his kennel card read 'semi-erect'). It took him another couple of months until they were totally erect. I want to say....about....4-7mos.

THe 'mending' you are asking about is totally unnessesary. That is when the dog's ears are in this cardboad cast-type thing and taped up. It looks like your dog is wearing a retangular bonnet. The effect is that the muscles/cartilage will be 'molded to stand erect. It is done to dogs who have gotten their ears docked until they heal (about 6-8 weeks+).

Until they are about 8 months old their ears will go up and down, sometimes with one ear up and other ear down. They need to build up the cartilage in them before they will stand properly. Feed a good quality of food with meat, lamb, chicken or beef as the first ingredient and good luck.

My girl Roxie Has one up an one that flops down.
I don't mind It sets her apart. Just like you or I we all have something different about us.
The thing with the high end diet I doubt it.
Roxie was raised on a couple of different top of the line foods.

There is no need to "mend" your pup's ears; the flopping is natural.
