God does want us to be happy. He even wrote a book on how to be happy, the Holy Bible. There will always be pain and suffering in a persons life, Satan took care of that for us. But, we have God to look after us and I, for one, am eternally grateful to Him. Denial of pleasurable things? I am not sure what you mean. I am not lacking in that area at all. Believing in God, worshiping God and truly loving God will provide all life's simple pleasures.
You and I may or may not share the same views, but I thank you for letting me explore my thoughts and express how I feel. :)

There will always be pain and suffering like there will always be joys and pleasures in life.
God wants us all to be happy and we all want to be happy but life tends to have this bad habit of throwing BS our ways. Sometimes we walk into it, sometimes it's others who throw it our way but it's not how much BS we get in life, it's how we deal with it that's important. We can either learn from it and gain strength from our own mistakes and BS given, or crumble and become weak and keep on doing what we keep on doing therefore on a merry go round.

All lifes pleasures and wishes we make and desire are there, within reason that is, but how many of us really has the courage to get out there and get what we want?

With every door that's closed, another two opens
Some I've closed, some I've Iocked
Some I've pushed open and walked through v-e-r-y cautiously
I accept those that are slammed and welcome those that are opened

I believe that it is God's wish for all of us to be happy. Organized religion is for people who need direction. I am my own happy person and I don't need to be dictated on how to live my life. As for the pleasurable things: God gave us these resources for a reason, so why not enjoy?!

These things about pain, suffering are good for making us better people( thinking of negative things encourages us to make good decisions and not be so rude with others-if u do bad things pain and suffering may follow). My opinion is that this idea is mainly for making us more conscious of what we do. If god tells u to be happy than be so, do anything that u like but don't do anything wrong to others(referring to pain etc etc). Life is made to be lived not to be feared of.

God does want us to be happy and he has created us with the ability to enjoy life to the full, which shows that he wants us to have happiness. And he has even provided us with a instruction manual(the Bible) to show us how to attain this happinessince he knows that satan is still trying to rob us of it, and is succeeding because mankind is listening to satan instead of God that is why most of mankind does not have happiness and because they search for happiness in the wrong ways and placess!

I thank God for keeping me happy always.Suffering for a cause is a virtue in Christianity.Just suffering for nothing like cutting oneself( like masochists do) is not needed.

That's just it. God wants me to be happy. He set rules and boundaries not to hinder me, but to protect me.

Take the subject of sex. Yes it's fun, yes it is pleasurable. But because people do not have any kind of restraint, they end up with aids.

yes, christian life is most difficult but it is our delight to fight against it with the help of God. it is such a good thing to know how much you love God through the pain and we can see also how He cares and love us.

I think you're watching, getting your cues from, the wrong believers.
