This is a good question,I try to give you the best answer without offend any one out there.My answer come from life experiance.Meny different denominetions go under the word christian.The real christian is the one who live the life everyday according to the word of God.Not just on Sunday or Saturday but every day during the week.walking in love,do not gosship or critizise others.They help when hepl is need it.And they really keep the peace with everybody.So they are cool easy going people.With compassion in the heart,they shear they faith with you ,but not pushi or aggressive.They have the spirit of God in them and they are listen what God saying to them.The "bad christian" as you called them,are the hypocrat one.They want to look good so they go to church,dress good,drive nice car etc.But at home they life is hell.But no one knows,everythink look nice from outside.The Husband maybe working for some ministrie or church,act like a good family man but at home treat the wife like doormat ,abusing with words.even sometime hit her.After he running to read the bible and think everything ok now,When you meet one ,listen to your heart you will know wich one is the real one.You dont have to be a church member to have eternal life.You find the way just read the Word.I am not bad or good christian.I am a wife of a hypocrat christian for 22years.I am a jew.Lesson number one,always listen to God and your parents regarding who you get married with.I am paying the price for my disobediance.Well all the best for you,I hope my answer will help you.Shalom

You know them by their fruits, Bad christian is the carnal christian, a lukewarm christian is the christian by title only not by faith,that wants to enjoy the worldly entertainments and speak and act like those living in sin or perhaps still living in sin.
For the true christian Jesus(or God) is everything for him/her, they are bible center, they try to live a holy life, because the the bible says without holiness you will not see God. They are happy, they have peace even in the middle of the storms in life.

I am gnostic (no, not agnostic) and the difference is when Christians twists words found in the Bible to do bad things, like molest young boys or kill all the jews. True Christians are nice and loving and help poor people at Christmas.

A true Christian is born again by the Spirit of God. Here's the difference as explained in Scripture.

i'm not sure what the labels "bad christian" and "good christian" really mean. but i find many christians to be hypocritical, picking and choosing passages from the bible that suit their particular beliefs (as told to them by their church, their pastor, their family, their friends, etc...). "bad christians," as you put it, are people who claim to know jesus's love and want to spread throughout the world, but then turn around and bash gay people on the basis of religion.
"good christians" are people who actually live their lives based on the teachings of jesus, like loving, accepting, and caring for others, without passing judgment or showing discrimination.
as far as my faith goes, i'm spiritually unique - i have studied all sorts of spiritual teachings, and kind of compiled them together with my values and my beliefs to form my own spirituality.

In the U.S. if asked people will say they are Christin most often.This does not mean that they attend church or read the Bible,it simply means Christianity is the religion that was prevalent where they were raised.
