I'm trying really hard to learn French, but it just doesn't sink in, any ideas for how I could get better at learning French?

podcast french is also really good! "French for Beginners" or "The French Ecole" is excellent it has audio and PDF files to help you learn

watch movies that allow for different audio tracks. Put the audio on French and the subtitles on English. I've done this to help with learning Spanish. It's helpful because you hear the French, and read the English, so you can put things together. Although, it doesn't help that well with learning individual words, because their grammar syntax is a little different than ours.

The Daily Mail newspaper has been giving away language CDs - the whole thing is just spoken, so you don't have to worry about writing. So far they have done Spanish, French, Italian Portugese.

I learned to speak fluent German at the Pillow University. That is an old German adage meaning that if you want to learn a foreign language, move to that country and get a native girlfriend or boyfriend.
Believe me, it works!
