well, my local councill says eleven, but my opinion is as soon as one hits puberty. Things could get nasty otherwise.

There is an actual law requirement age I think. Or at least people in council houses have to be re-housed by a certain age in mixed children are sharing a room. I think its when the oldest is 10. But that's completely off the top of my head. I think definitely before moving up to secondary school.

I think it depends on the age of the boys mainly. I think a good age would be 9 or 10 when they start becoming more curious about the opposite sex.

The children themselves will probably tell you...
My son is the younger of two..He asked to have his own room when he was about seven. (his sister was 9). We had a small guest bedroom which we adapted for him...And from then on he was quite happy in his own private "space".
