I don't think the animals would see a whole heckuva lot of difference between administrations. They've all been pretty bad for wildlife in general.
Our defense would be taken up by the pigeons, rats, cockroaches and raccoons that have thrived and expanded their range by adapting to the human created urban ecosystem. The dogs would be called as character witnesses, but would be discounted as sycophantic toadies, brainwashed by the humans.
Then it would be revealed that humans are actually just the servants of the secretive conspiracy of housecats, who allow humans to exist solely to build shelter and toys for cats, create cat food and open doors.
The actions of the housecats would be condemned by a general order in council, and all of the wild animals would roundly boo them, and the housecats would ignore them, and eat a few songbirds.
Life would go back to normal. Humans would continue building cities and destroying the Earth for their feline masters as the housecats curled up and purred on the back of the sofa.
Catnip cultivation would increase slightly.

At least life without the possibility of parole. But, so would all of the millions who illegally elected him in 2000, 2004, including the Supreme Court of 2000.

Ok, the judge would be the Owl, wise and thoughtful. Prosecuter would be the Jackal, cunning and quick.
The Jury would be made of fish, birds and insects, as they are the first affected by pollution.
Defense would be the sloth. Slow an dimmwitted.
Forget Bush, any human would most likely be lynched for our crimes against the planet!!!

China has no environmental laws period, neither do half the other countries in the world, I think the animals would say "at least we have National Parks"
