freezing forces salt out of the water - because the salty parts of the water freeze slower. this means these parts are also the first to melt when you take the ice out of the freezer. therefore the first water to make it to your tongue is salty

Tap water contains a lot of things besides just water. There are dissolved salts, gases and hopefully not too many organic substances.

When water freezes it forms a crystaline lattice that is usually very precise. There is not much room for the dissolved salts and other debris so they are squeezed out. As the ice remelts they will be in higher concentration in the ice-water mixture and the water may taste different.

Try using distilled water and see if the same thing happens. If so, throw out your ice trays and get some new ones.

When water freeze, water molecules tend to form the most stable crystal arrangement if there are no foreign particles present. when a drinking water (salt-water solution) is freezed, water molecules begin to form ice crystals that tend to exclude particles that are unlike water. the result is a mixture of ice crystals (within which some salt is trapped) and salty water surrounding the crystals.

Clean out the freezer and add a box of baking soda to keep it fresh.

If that doesn't work, use steam-distilled water to make your ice. But if you go to that expense, please make the freezer clean and add the soda to prevent off-flavors first.
