Go to the library or on-line and get information on depression.Share this information with your mother. Being in a tough marriage is very stressful. Your mom is probably depressed herself. Show your mom the information that you gather. The information that you have may help you and your mom. Tell your mom that you would like to go to see a doctor or therapist so that you can work things out. Good Luck....

First of all depression can't be cured by thinking positive, this mind over matter bull...doesn't work if you have a chemical imbalance.
When I was 18 and depressed, I didn't know how to tell my family either, it took me trying to kill myself for my family to understand that I have an illness and to get the help I needed to get.
Be careful because it sneaks up on you, first you're kind of said and then you don't want to live anymore.
Go see a doctor and bring your mom with you so the doctor can explain the facts about depression to her.

Honey, take it from someone who suffers from depression. If your mother is unwilling to admit that there is a problem, there is nothing you can do for her. You, however, need to talk to someone, start with your school counselor. You need to start seeing someone as soon as possible before it gets out of hand. It would be best if you could talk to your mother and get her to admit, but that may not be possible. Please do yourself a favor, and seek help immediately.

Dear, no need to worry. As you have not mention your age and your education in your question, so i would like to say you discuss this matter with your mother openly.
In the age of teenager, mostly this kind situation occur b coz of hormonical changes. just take little time and being sad you can't achieve your goal. so keep you eye on your goal and pass little time.
god is with you!!!!

This site has a depression test:
http://depression.about.com/cs/diagnosis/l/bldepscreenquiz.htm
Take the test and see if you are depressed, If you are, show the results to your mom, and tell her you need professional help.
Good luck. I hope everything goes well for you and you manage to get over it.

Well, why do you need to tell your Mother at all? Why bother her with a problem that is yours? I am not being mean, but it is your problem, not hers. There is no need to burden her with your suffering. Instead, do something positive to recover. See your GP, get help, talk to friends.

She is entitled to her opinion. Actually that logic of thinking has saved people from depression. Sometimes it's as simple as mind over matter.
