if you put a 420 mercedes up on a lift and put a lexus ls 400 up on one right beside it you would see where toyota did there "engineering". now after 10 years of proper care and service put the same two cars up together again and look for yourselves the mercedes will be a oil leaking crud encrusted mess with the exhaust replaced the suspension bushings rotted out[if not already replaced ]and needingall 4 shocks and the steering damper the drivers seat bottom will feel like godzilla has stomped on it and the window lifts will have been repaired at 3 of the four doors[they always fail when raining or snowing] the lexus will have had routine minor and major[timing belt replacement] services no oil leaks still comfortable to drive original exhaust intact and quiet and toyota[lexus] gives us a copy that is better than original for thousands less in both initial cost and upkeep.and they are nicer to work on. so whats not to love?

I like Lexus, but as a luxury car they don't measure up to the really ostentatious and much more expensive cars. Toyota, Honda, Mazda, all came out with luxury lines around the same time, and Lexus is seen to be more bland than the other two. But Toyotas in general are bland. But I love Toyotas. I have had Camry's, a Supra (wish they would bring that back), and currently an Avalon (one of the Lexus models is basically an Avalon with some extras). Lexus, in general, isn't that much different, from high end Camrys, Soleras, Avalons. There are a couple of hot models, but anyways.

I don´t hate Lexus.. I´ve had a lexus (used 2000) for about 4 years now, and until now it´s been my smoothest ride. Can´t feel the speed in that car, it drieves very smooth and it feels very safe. The only problem I could maybe find with it is that it spends alot of gas, or at least more than my old 95 altima. Other than that love that car, and I used to own a 93 Lexus as well which actually I Like the altima better but It wasn´t a horrible car to own.

I don't hate Lexus but I don't like it either.
Lexus has no class, it is just an ordinary car like every other cars and nothing special but too expensive.
I love Mercedes Benz, BMW, Land Rover, Jaguar.
Most of people who bought Lexus are the people they want to show off and have no knowledge about cars.... OK...OK....I admit...I hate Lexus.

To me, it symbolizes rich people. Most of the rich people I've known are rude, arrogant, prideful, and...snobby. I've met a few realllly nice rich people, but for the most part, it's not a good image to symbolize what most of the upper class can only afford. That's why I think people don't like Lexus.

I don't hate them but just like Acura's , Infiniti's , as well as some Cadillac's and Lincoln/Mercury's ...they are just overpriced versions of other lower priced but mechanically identical vehicles produced by the same manufacturers and then renamed to charge a premium. I just don't think supposedly upgraded leather upholstery should command a 10k price difference.

Lexus - a very well made car.

To compare it to a Holden is stupid.

Because it is not a European trademark it will never quite fill the shoes of Benz, BMW, Audi or Porsche in the prestige category.
