i am not able to understand your question.s which is supposedly real ? what happened when you were applying for a job @ mycrosoft ?when u were asking some other question why did u think of a manhole ? why r manholes round ? because it has to cover a round hol;e. moreover it will not fall into the hole.but still i am not able to make out your reason for asking 3 questions whuch r not connected with each other. any way happy question time.

manhole covers are round because manholes are round.
Manholes are round because pipes are cylindrical.
Pipes are cylindrical because it is the most efficient shape to use when calculating Q or flow.
Q or flow is calculated for the purposes of making sure there is adequate drainage provided for drains.
Why does Microsoft ask this question of its employees?
To test their understanding of processes, and to see how they answer it, how far they go into the process.
