religious organizations and gender roles?

Question

how does your religious affiliation (Christian, Jewish, Muslim or other) organize itself regarding the roles men and woman may perform in the organization? Like may a woman become a priest or leader? Please include your religion and gender.

thanks people, I appreciate the answers. I´m a little low on info so even if the info sounds way too obvious just state it anyways. Like in the Catholic religion women can´t become priests, instead they become nuns. Do other religions have stuff like this?

Well, the Baha'i Faith don't have a clergy.
But we do believe in equlity of men and women. The Hands of the Cause were of both genders. Both genders are elected to the Local and National Assemblies. ('suppose you could describe the assemblies as our governing body. they keep the communities in touch, keep the books...)

Though, I'd like to point out that, I believe it was Adubaha (Baha'is out there, please correct me if I've got the wrong one here) that cationed not to confuse equality with sameness.
Fact is, women and men are built different. They are just as smart as the other, but, physically...
A man can life more with out hurting himself than a woman can.
A woman has more lower body strengh than a man (I think that means we should be able to run faster, but not really sure if that's a fact or a guess).

But, honestly, what does the physical have to do with the spiritual?

the bible says in the latter days God would pour out his HOLY SPIRIT on your sons and daughters and all would prophecy!!!But some organized religions have a power structure that wont allow it!I say leave them and fly!

I am a Christian, and women can be pastors, but men cannot become mothers. haha.
