Christians say that "GOD LOST His only son to save us". To whom did God lose Jesus if he owns the whole universe?

I dont understand why would a God have to humiliate if he has a son, humiliate his son to save the world. If indeed he owns this world and he can save the world with just a blink of an eye. WHy would he humiliate his son? Why does he create right and wrong when then those who does what is wrong will be saved.

How possible is satan in hell and in this world too? It is like how possible one can be in jail and out at the same time? What is the meaning of being jailed then?

I thought it is God's power to forgive. So if it is true that if God loves human so much then why cant he just forgives? Why must he burn his son to forgive people? Why is there sins at the first place when sins will be forgiven cos this Jesus burns himself in hell for 3 days for the sins people committed? Why all this biasness? Where is that fairness in religion?

It is like God says, i love you my creations and because i love you so much and even though u kill and rape ppl everywhere in this world, i want to forgive your sins and to do so, i shall burn my only son in hell i created for all you sinners so that your debts shall be repaid. To who does these sinners owe their debts to anyway if not to the God that created heaven and hell? And to who does God repay this debt to by burning his only son in hell?

I believe that when someone makes a mistake and have to go to jail.. then that person himself has to go to jail and not a replacement? Doesnt anyone think so?

There are so much flaw here i think that one needs to ponder

Why so many hateful answers? This guy's got a good point, even if he's a little off on one element of his question.

I was a Christian for most of my life, and at no time does Christianity teach that God loses anything, even Jesus. You're mistaken here. Christians believe that God gave up Jesus willingly, but that He didn't lose him.

stockpicker2010, are you at it again with the hateful comments? Not to mention, you're insulting the guy by calling him a moron. What a lovely, Christian thing to say. You are a stellar example of a Christian, the best representative of Christianity altogether!!! (rolls eyes)

I wonder why Christians believe that God Jesus' crucifixion in order to forgive? Can't God forgive regardless, blood sacrifice or not? Of course He can, His hands are never tied. His forgiveness, or any part of Him, is never ever contingent upon anything. least of all a blood sacrifice. Sheesh people,

We say "For God so loved the world that He GAVE His only begotten Son." He only lost Him for 3 days when Jesus died and went to hell. That is the only time Jesus and His Heavenly Father were away from one anothers presence. God was still there, but He turned His face as Jesus took on the sins of the world, past present and future. He does own the whole universe! He made a sacrifice so that everyone had the opportunity to one day be free. Jesus returned to earth, a RISEN Savior and ascended to heaven later, where He is still "seated at the right hand of the Father." God bless you. Good question.

I apologize for the rudeness and bigotry of some who claim Christianity. I read that you are asking a legitimate question, and I'm not sure why some people are so threatened by that, or what difference it makes what the religion of the asker is.
It is true that the Gospel of John says, "God 'gave' His only Son..." Whether it is translated "gave" or " lost" the point the author was making was that God allowed Jesus to become human, and to die, and that God was willing for this to happen for the work of salvation.
The Gospel of John is the latest written of the Gospels, and by that time the early church was trying to fight gnosticism, so there is a lot of emphasis in John on the idea of the divinity of Jesus.

Hi,
I am not a christian but grew up in a christian society.
Firstly, it is sad to see the number of insult directed at you without answering your question.
From what I understand the believe is that "God gave his only son
to die for our sins" and that our salvation can only be obtained by accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior"
(our referring to Christians)
Personally i don't believe that i need a "middle man" in order to communicate with God, hence i do not follow the christian religion.

PS: I often hear people making insulting statements about Muslims and in particular Islam.
When i ask how many Muslims they know and whether they have ever had a discussion about Islam with a a Muslim the answer is almost always NO.

Christians don't say God lost his only son you ignoramous God GAVE his only begotten son and he rose on the third day to join OUR FATHER in HEAVEN. What did Allah give to you besides a cow to use as a false idol and to drink the cow piss from? Pretty strange that you think God is losing anything It seems to me you are a little lost can you say "Shock & AWE? And by the way God doesn't claim to OWN anyone or anything he CREATED everything for all of us and gave us the Choices to use it all as we will. Do your people have freedom of choice in anything? Yeah you do , right here as soon as your *** comes to our country you are treated like the kings you claim to be with your tax free businesses and you dare to attempt to bring your misguided b/s with you! Heres a little wake up call for you hon, show some respect 'cause I'm sure we wouldn't mind the freakin mexicans so much if we could deport all of you.And if it weren't for your women your race wouldn't exist.

I've been a Christian my whole life and have never heard any Christian say that God lost His only Son to save us. Christians believe that God SENT His only Son to save us, and that the Son GAVE His own life in reparation for our sins.

May our Lord bless you, my brother or sister.

John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten son... "

I think you should read the Gospel of John. As a start to adequately answer your question. If you don't read the whole thing, atleast read John 1:9. There is another ruler of this world. The purpose of God's economical plan is to save us!

Look buddy... you've met the wrong Christians.. and DEFINITELY not read the Bible.. So let me clarify your doubts.. and maybe you can calrify the doubts of those so-called friends of yours who told you this... (Yea go tell them they dont know their own religion)
NOWHERE is it said that GOd 'lost' his 'only' Son to save us...
It is said he SENT his Son to be sacrificed.. for our sins. Get your facts right. And after Jesus was crucified, he resurrected on the 3rd day after going down to Hell .. and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father, Almighty. He didn't LOSE him!! Whoever told you that?

And... btw.. we are ALL God's kids. And it was a sacrifice... meaning that because of people's bad ways, God had to watch his Son suffer... Jesus had to pay the price... because he wanted us to be forgiven, he decided to go down and pay the price so we wouldn't have to suffer as much.

Ohh... and.. btw - just by the way - (now Im going to tell all my muslim friends this)- did you read the post about muhammad's multiple wives and the 6yr old and his adopted kid's wife etc?
