If you think that you were doing something wrong you need to ask the teacher.I know that it can be hard to when there are others around.

Go back after school and ask or write the teacher a note saying that you would like to talk to them privately. If you can not find an opportunity to do this, go talk to the guidance counselor about the problem and they should be able to help you.

I'm not from USA, i don't know how people there are... but go and play, don't be shy, give your best, if you are making mistakes it's human u know, everyone make mistakes, when i play soccer i make some mistakes too and some may laugh, I DON'T GIVE A ****, they are not smarter than me, they just think they are cooler, but they are not. Don't be ashamed of what you are, if you are shy you won't make more friends than if you are more open to others, i learned that from my own experience. Go on there and show them that you can play soccer and basketball too. You have the right of playing it even if you play bad or if you play good. And if you work hard you will learn to speak English too. I learned it in 4 years with only in average 10 min/day, at school without being in an English speaking country, you will learn it quick just because you hear it every day more hours every day.

when i first learnt english, it was pretty bad as well... people kept on asking me stuff and i just nodded because i didnt know what they were talking about. I knew absolutely nothing, not even the alphabet. But then i just somehow learnt it... i dont even know how. I guess i simply talked to people, pointing to things and asking 'what's that' etc. I dont think your classmates will laugh at you - the worst they'll ignore you. My friends back then were great, they helped (at least, tried to help) with my poor state of english.

so yes, you HAVE TO talk to people. Everyone make mistakes, you have to LEARN from your mistakes... good luck!

You need to talk to them to improve your English and yes they will sometimes laugh at you, but that is just human nature. People are afraid of the unknown and different. P.E. is just for fun you do not have to be perfect at a game to enjoy yourself. So just go out there and play with those balls. (joke) did you get it? The more you play the more you will learn to say and your confidence will be unbreakable one day.

Well, your English will never get better - and you will never have fun and make friends - if you don't _try_.

It can be difficult. I guess you're shy and afriad that people will say bad things about you. But remember two things: (1) the people who will say bad things about you aren't good people to be your friend and the people who will be good friends won't say bad things about you. (2) you won't be in Beaverton forever. Ten years later you won't remember the names of the people who said bad things about you.

Try to be strong and unafraid. Have fun! Talk to your teachers about your fears. I'm sure you'll be okay.

It's natural to be shy! But if you don't free yourself from it, it will become an illness. I'd start talking to someone who looks nicer and more supportive than othersand ask for help whenever I need it. If you wait for your English to be perfect before you start talking, it will never happen. Trust me:I learned 8 languages in my life and in each case it was awful at first but things improved after I actually spoke to people...
