There is plenty of dissent...it's just that the corporate media ownership not only owns the mass media outlets but also buys the silence of the politicians.Any dissenting voices are muffled..so much for free speech and a free press.May I suggest you read some of Noam Chomskey's writings and listen to KPFK radio...you can stream it on your computer.I am also an Austral alien and i would say the same goes for Australian media..there is dissent but the Rupert Murdoch's of the world won't let you hear it unless it suits their own greedy narrow selfish and megalomaniac self interests.

LOL I think there's always been plenty of dissent, but most people are too busy working etc. to really pay a lot of attention to it. Plus, there's so much hyperbole, a lot of people tune out because they get tired of people like Michael Savage etc.
Some people are relentless blowhards, they only know one viewpoint/one side of a story, so that's all you hear....
How about in AUS? What's the big controversy Down Under?

It is out there, it is just not a vocal or well know that you hear it. It is mostly the voice of the common people, and in the end theirs is the only voice that counts.
