I reckon the believers in religion would be, yes saddened but not frightened of the future, we could go on being the way we are even if there is to be nothing at the end of it all. However if we look at it that way then we must look at it the other way, What if it was proved there is a God, where would that leave the atheists and the really evil people of this world, could they really change?

Well we don't have to worry about that. Period.

Don't worry they will know the truth one day and it is as you say, they should think, where does it leave them when they deny the God that created them. When they die what do they think will happen to them, God already told them. They have free will and choose not to believe. Once they learn the truth they may be dead, then it's too late.

Who will save your soul?

I think you're one hundred percent wrong here. I think it's the other way around.

As an unbeliever, I'd be happy to believe in a (just) god. I mean, why not? Wouldn't it be nice to think there's someone watching over us who will reward us with an eternity on a cloud with harps and halos? It's a beautiful idea. The problem is that I don't buy into it. I don't feel it and it doesn't make sense to me. But I already have the tools I need to get by in a life without God; adjusting to a life with God would be no problem.

Yet I see how a lot of religious people attribute their personal sense of morals, purpose and beauty to God. If they were to find out that there is no God, they would be left with nothing; they would have to completely restructure their perspective on life, and many of them would enter into a period of depression and nihilism.

Further, proving a positive is easy. I'm not stubborn; if God made his presence absolutely clear to me, of course I would believe and do what was required. Yet there's no convincing some people of an absence - haven't you heard the old 'gold in China' argument? All the proof in the world (as far as I'm concerned plenty exists) will not convince many true believers. Even a whiff of proof could convince me.

If there were any at all. Which there isn't.

If there were no God beyond the reasonable doubt, the best thing to do is to kill yourself. Believe me that life is not worth living. It is full of hardship and hard labor. What are you living for without the hope you have in God.? Why should you go through the misery of life and the trouble it gives, and later on you die. Why don't you die now and rest for ever. You cannot find better rest than the rest of death when no body will ever bother you again. There is no Hell to go to and there is no Heaven to go to. There is the absolute serenity and absolute peace found in death. If you can prove there is no God, no Hell and no Heaven, take the gun now and shoot your self. You will rest in everlasting serenity without any creature that may awaken you from you eternal sleep. If you have the proof with you, and can convince the whole world that there is no God. No Hope, No Hell and no Heaven, please see me; see me now. I will be the first to end my misery or my life or my trap in time, or my service I do for humanity that has no meaning because there is no one to reward you for your work. I will be the first to obtain the absolute and everlasting serenity and peaceful rest.

First: I resent being lumped together with "the really evil people of the world." It's not evil to insist on my right not to be discriminated against for my lack of belief in any deity.

Second: The key word is "reasonable." Believers have said many times on this forum that their belief is not a matter of reason, but a matter of faith -- which literally goes against all reason. Therefore, even in the face of incontrovertible proof of the non-existence of god, the believers would persist in their belief. It's who they are.

As for your second question: If god actually showed himself to be real, I would join Sir Bertrand Russell (and probably, many other atheists) in saying: "Lord, I'm sorry for having doubted you, but really, you should have provided better evidence!"

The "true belivers" would continue to belive reguardless of fact. Many others would turn into criminals with no morals at all.

If it was proved there was a god. I would do everything I could so that I could meet him. If that means being a good person I would not need to change. If it requires me making a statment of faith then god is rather petty. But I would, so that I could kick the snot out of him for being a jerk.

Let see and analyze whether GOD exists. Lets make 'Logic' & 'Science' as our Jusges. OK?

1) Plug the wire of a TV into the socket. Dont switch it ON. leave it as it is.
My question to you, if no body switches it ON, can it switch ON by itself?

2) You are lost in a forest, there you see a house in the middle of the forest. you are certain that this house has been built by someone. you may not know who he is but you are dead sure that the house has a owner. WHY?

3)You dont see Infra-Red radiations, yet you believe its existence. you dont see the waves that are meitted while we talk, yet you can feel it. you have not seen a single galaxy yet you believe the presence of millions of galaxies. WHY?

4) You were not present when an Apple fell over Newton. And he discovered Gravity. yet you believe Newton discovered 'Gravity'. have you seen it? Yet you believe in the phenomenon called 'Gravity'.

5) Nobody knows where is the exact location of 'Mind' and the 'Soul' in the human body, yet millions accept its prescence.

If you can affirm all these without seeing them, Can not the whole of the universe be built by ALmighty GOD???

The house in the forest has to have an owner, The Gigantic universe running in precise equilibrium, without an Owner?

GOD exists and HE is only ONE

The truth is Monotheism. There is only ONE GOD. Not 2, 3 or more.

This is the truth. A small school cant exist on 2 principals. Any organization has ONE final Authority. Therefore how can the entire universe be run by 2, Trinity or more GODs???

Then, the next truth is GOD is imageless. GOD cant be compared with anything on earth. GOD cant have wife and kids. If GOD can have wife and kids and still be called GOD then we all are GODs.

The final truth is that any religion that asks you to submit yourself to GOD is 'The Real Truth'. There can be no Law greater than the Law of 'The Creater'.

Apply the 3 principals and you get Islam. Which believes in Monotheism, doesnt give any image to GOD and asks its followers to submit their will (wholeheartedly) to GOD.

You cant have your own laws. If you buy a TV. Dont you refer to the instruction manual for the TV? Or you just mess it up as you like it since you OWN it?

The body which we have is not ours. Its a ctually a gift of ALmighty GOD which we have to use it as per his guidelines.

All the rules and Laws made by Man are subject to fail as Man doesnt know whats in store for him in the future. So Bow yourself to The will of GOD... In other words Submit your will to Almighty GOD. Enter Islam which means "Peace acquired by submitting your will to ALmighty GOD (ALLAH)"

If you can't prove there is a God, how cold you prove there wasn't one?

To answer your question, I would be more than saddened if the Lord dropped out of my life...He does so much for me every say and has brought me out of such difficulties- nothing would be the same without Him.

I agree with Miriam R. Life is God.

Too late its already proved, there IS a God but I don't think The Creator is quite the way you perceive!
Use the link I have provided, have an open mind and read Dr. Chalko's book. It's free and it will enlighten you.

Even with very strong evidence or proof many will still hold true to their already established beliefs. Some ideas are so ingrained they require generations to pass on before change becomes evident in society.

Does the fact that you question whether God exists prove His existence? If there is no God, then we would have no concept of God or any other power bigger than ourselves.
