there is alot more going on there than just the kidnapping and killing of one soldier..they are attacked on an almost daily basis by rockets from that area..that and then people who like to wrap themselves in explosives and blow up innocent civilians also come from the group that operates out of lebanon... I feel sorry for all the innocent people of lebanon that are suffering , but I think that the terrorist group hamas should be stomped into the ground.. as should any group who attacks innocent people to deliver their message.. I dont think that Isreal is going to achieve its objective .... I think that the other zealots in the area are going to use this conflict as an way of recruiting and justifing even more attacks ......peace....

Of course it's not right, it's not right to kill except in very specific circumstances. What israel is doing is not just killing, it's murder (not to say that hizbullah isn't murdering people too with their rocket attacks). They know full well that by bombing civilian targets and infrastructure, they are creating more terrorists to attack their country. Israel has a policy of provocation, they push until some people get fed up, and then when the inevitable push back comes, they retaliate with overwhelming force. The real question is WHY are they doing this?
Israel NEEDS terrorists to attack, so they can continue the justification for what's going on in palestine (and possibly persue the ultimate goal of a greater israel, although thankfully they have backed off from this recently). Israel effectively controls palestine, there is no palestinian state, they don't have trade with other countries except what israel allows them. Yet the people there (outside of the jewish settlements, every one of which violates the geneva conventions) can't vote in israeli elections. This is also specifically prohibited by the geneva conventions, but seeing as israel is constantly under attack, the rest of the world, especially the USA, gives them a great deal of leeway. Why can't they let the palestinians vote in israeli elections? Because then israel will no longer be a jewish state. Talk about a crisis of identity...
Israel says that Lebanon should disarm hizbullah. But Israel, whose military is vastly superior, was unable to do so for 18 years of occupation. How is Lebanon's government supposed to disarm hizbullah? Especially considering that hizbullah is extremely popular in lebanon for 1. resisting the israeli occupation and (apparently) driving them out, and 2. Their social programs, they provide healthcare and basic services which the government neglects. Popularity counts for a great deal, especially in a democracy. As for a solution.., a cease fire is inevitable, but a long term solution is simply not feasable without fundamental changes, at least.. not without some kind of massive common tragedy that affects everyone equally.

I believe there were 2 kidnapped soldiers, but anyway...this kidnapping was done so that Hezbollah could get a prisoner exchange going with Israel, as has been done in the past. But Israel, out of the blue, changes its direction, and creams Lebanon. No, it's not right, it stinks. But Israel is trying to kick up a war, is trying to make things get to the point where Iran or Syria have to get involved. This is all about deception. Now, the good ole USA has to take its overly stretched thin troops into the war, by moving them out of Iraq. Just in time for the US elections. Then Iraq can have its full blown civil war, and no one can accuse the US of another Vietnam. Because of course, they had no choice but to leave Iraq to defend Israel, right?

Where have you been for the last 45 years?
Israel has been under almost constant attack all that time!!!
Hezbollah has sent suicide bombers and fired rockets into Israel all that time. The kidnap is just one event. Hezbollah boasts of targeting children's schools and hospitals. They also boast they are using the Lebanese as human sandbags.
The world has failed to take any action to stop these attacks on Israel and are therefore just as guilty of causing this situation.
Make no mistake Hezbollah are deliberately setting up the Lebanese civilian population to be killed for their own ends.
What ever happens to end the current situation there can be no lasting peace until Hezbollah and Hamas renounce their terrorism.

This occured due to many unprovoked attacks by Hezbollah. They crossed over the border and attacked Israel over 2 dozen times before Israel did anything. They killed 8 soldiers and kidnapped 2. Then, it started launching dozens of rockets for sport.
Israel decided that it had enough. And rightly so.
Hezbollah hides behind women and children -- using them as human shields. They put weapons, rocket and missile launchers in Mosques and in civillian areas.
They (Hezbollah) recently started launching rockets right next to where many children were living. Unfortunately Israel took the bait and fired in this area hoping to destroy the rockets/weapons, but instead killing the children.
The blood is on Hezbollah.

Is that o.k that the people of Lebanon let a terror organization to act from there land ???
The Hezbollah cause the destruction of Lebanon.
we all can see how hard Israel try not to hit civilians , but the terrorists use there own people and hide in there houses because they know that Israel will not attack them!!!
Israel gave back all the land that the U.N said that belong to Lebanon. They have no excuse to attack Israel.
They have to defend them self.

Yes. It wasn't just 1 kidnapped soldier, it was 3 kidnapped and many more killed and wounded. Plus the daily rocket attacks from Hizbollah - every day for the last six years.
And it isn't Israel's fault that Hizbollah mounts their rocket launchers on top of apartment buildings and hides their weapons in apartment building basements.

If you did your homework, before embarassing yourself, and your entire family name, you would know that the Lebanese state has been ******* with Isreal for many, many years... Isreal has beaten their asses in the past, and more recently tried 6yrs of diplomacy... what's Lebanon's response? They vote in a terrorist government, who then fires rockets into Isreal, unprovoked. Because the Isralis (sp?=) final response was far more.... efficient (for lack of a better word at this moment) should not be held against them. So, this is NOT for one kidnapped soldier (there has been more), it is simply the straw that broke the camel's back! Go Isreal! Why are the majority of Islamic nations supporting Isreal's actions now?

Civilian casualities... deaths of innocent children... not justified at all. They should have engaged in combat with the hizbollah directly rather than devastaing the country first where innocent Christians and Muslims continue with their daily struggle for survival. But we must not forget that the bad example of such cowardly war was set by USA in Iraq not to far back.

of course its not right, its evil but theyve done it before and unfortunately theyre doing it again. this has nothing to do with a kidnapped soldier. one of the reasons is that israel wants to illegally expand its territory and it doesnt give a rats behind about peoples lives (if theyre not israeli).
