What conflict between Israel and Lebanon? I know of one between Israel and Hezbollah terrorist hiding behind Lebanese civilians, but Israel is not attacking Lebanon. I'm surprised the people and government of Lebanon tolerate the Hezbollah terrorists in their country. Surely they can see these terrorist care nothing for Lebanon, for its people, or for anything in life.

Well I think that its although the call to war was rushed, now there is little back tracking. The fire was burning hot enough and the added heat is making the pot boil over. This extension of war on terror seems to have riled up the neighbors. The problem with the war on terror is that the roles of terrorist and Champion are skewed by the people you ask. The innocent lebanon citizens that are harmed would reasonable not view the Israeli people so well. So as the other powerful nations in that regin weigh in if there is a difference in their operation definition of terror, things could explode on a much larger scale. Perhaps there is a better way to deal with the what is essentially guerrilla warfare of attacking these terrorists rather than kill innocents and thus ignite war.

Both sides, Israel and Lebanon's Hezbollah have showed signs of wanting to back out. Question is how do they go about doing that with heads held up high?

It takes time for the UN to put together a completely new UNIFIL in South Lebanon - hopefully with the capability to stop hostilities instead of just a monitoring role.

Any US peace initiative will be rejected outright by Lebanon-Hezbollah.

Israel has achieved its stated military objective of destroying as much of Hezbollah's infrastructure as possible.

Lebanon's Hezbollah has achieved immense status in the Islamic world - Nasrullah emerging as the new hero adored by millions of muslims in the region. The only victim is Lebanon itself and the deaths of non-combatants - a heavy price to pay for aligning itself to Syria, Iran and allowing their proxies to create a power base among its citizens.

This time round Israel looks more like a battered Goliath and the Hezbollah militia appears David-like. Israel seems wary of committing massive troops to confront Hezbollah in its own territory fearing heavy IDF casualties and a drawn-out war. This cautionary fear will be seen as a 'defeat for Israel' in the long run.

I think it is terrible how Hezbollah is firing an average of 100 rockets a day to the north of Israel against civil targets. If the US were attacked like that Lebanon would be flattened in a day. Israel notifies civilians about the attack and ergs them to leave so not to be hurt.

The conflict has been going on for too long now but intensified only since last 2 weeks.

I wish they'll stop coz innocents are suffering. No matter what's Israel's supporters are saying, they actuallly silently agree that this is not a fair fight especially with US backing but they don't care and that saddens me.

Terrorist need to stop attacking people. What else can you say?
If they stop and decide to live in peace, all of this would stop. Hezbollah has launched over 2000 rockets into Israel in the past two weeks. Lebanon can't stop that? They let it happen.

Yeah I sooo consider this "protecting Israel" coverage being accompanied precise now.possibly while the IRA have been blowing up uk civilians left and precise (supported by Irish human beings) the united kingdom government would desire to have blown up Derry and Belfast to smithereens and accomplished some ethnic cleansing...that ought to have taken care of issues out!no longer.what's occurring on the 2nd is unwell, little ones are being killed from each and every historic past (yet of course specifically Palestinian).

What would any person think. We are so lucky and look at all the kids dying and being injured. What they must all be feeling right now. Over 500000 people in bomb shelters. Makes you feel guilty that we are so lucky.
