there would be several core tenets, two of these being:

1 - there is no difference between people - everyone is equal
2 - others' beliefs or lack of beliefs are to be tolerated on pain of imprisonment

the list goes on for ages and i can't really be bothered to write them all down :)

=edit=

ok maybe a few more:

3 - religious observance may be performed at any time so long as it does not disrupt society's workings

also, the "one-and-a-halfth" (before #2 above, but after #1):

1.5 - religious beliefs based on those of any culture, or on a person's own beliefs, are tolerated and accepted

4 - religion (of any sort) is not to be forced upon anyone who does not wish to participate in religious observance

that's it for now

I wouldn't create one, nor would I participate in one created by man.

However, if I were to do such a thing, the defining characteristics of the religion I would create be the same one set forth in the Word of God- man's imperfect nature, God's great love for him, reconciliation to the Lord, mercy, and forgiveness of sins through Jesus. I just don't know how it could get any better than that!

for starters I would want it to work and be accepted by lots of people. History proves the only religion that achieves these things has the following attributes.

'Proofs' that are always conviently located out of sight
A higher power or two....that have a human representative only
A spiritual leader that hardly anyone can communicate directly with
ask money of the followers.....and spend most of it on yourself.
teachers that are not available for public debate
Scriptures written by primitves
claims of miracles that no one can ever prove to be truelly miracles.
Leaders that do all the thinking for the congregation
These are the facts.......these religions are the only ones people truelly want
...
history has proven..........people are not interested in love, peace, and equality. these religons only have a short life span, and then they quickly develop with the above attributes.
I would prefer love ,peace, equality etc ........but it wont work

merry christmass

It would be based soley on the Word of God as originally published in the King James Version of the Bible in 1611 and would direct people to keep the commandments of God including Sabbath keeping..except and in where the laws were completed by the atoning blood on the cross. I realize there is already a faith system in place that claims to do this..and for many Christians the religion of Christianity is all about the Word of God..but..there is a an astounding trend of Christian sects who have watered down their faith so much and tarred us all with the secular melding brush that I wish I could call myself something else and still claim Christ. However, I cannot. I love Jesus and I love His church..I love His Word too...because in loving Him, He is the Word. If more Christians understood that then there were be fewer problems. Love in Christ, ~J~ <><

Good question. I really don't know. I've been thinking about this too.

The Bible says it's going to happen and it will be against Christianity.

I think the World government will have to enforce the one-world religion it by threat of your life, torture and/or punishment. It could be Islam or a philosophy such as atheism.

Why would I create one? Don't we have enough already?
If you are not a Christian, try to read the Letters of St. Paul in the Bible.
There are already enough materials in those letters that you would not even think of creating a new religion but to embrace Christianity.

1. Accept others for who they are, do not judge them for their beliefs (unless their beliefs are something like they believe in eating babies)
2. Strive for peace, raise your hand only in defense and even then only if no other options are available
3. Strive to better yourself, through learning and physical fitness
4. Do not be wasteful, preserve our natural resources so we many continue living here until...
5. ...we reach for the stars, humanity will need a new home, find it beyond our Earth

So there's my religion, hopefully some nutcases won't come along and pervert my commandments.

If you spit on a sidewalk or leave chewing gum anywhere you go to hell! That is all, everything else would seem to be common sense. OH yeah, I almost forgot, God don't give a damn no more so quit calling upon him in the middle of the night to complain about your noisy neighbours

No need to create a new religion - it already exists

No afterlife - you have to live with the consequences of your actions during this life! In other words, just like reality.
