Girl, I wouldnt recommand doing that! I did it, and OMG!
You have to first BLEACH your hair. Which isn't very good for your hair. Then you have to put the red in afterwards. And red fades real fast. It starts to turn orange, lol. Red is the fastest color that fades. I had a bright, bright red color done to my hair.
I liked it at first, but after awhile it was just too red. I liked it and all, just was so red. lol! And then your hair starts to grow out again, and you have these black roots with your now orange hair. lol

Its a long process and your hair gets damaged during the process.

Good luck if you do it!

well you need to color it...but you best off if you go to a salon and get it done for the first time so you dont end up with oranfe hair...than pay close attention to the hairdresserd see what products she are using also ask her a lot of questions.

My best advice to you would be to consult a professional hair color expert. They will look at your hair and see if the color will lift at all. Some folks with black hair cannot achieve another hair color no matter how hard they try. If you over try lifting the color you can actually melt your hair. I've seen melted hair, it isn't pretty either. Some other black hair people can achieve another hair color. I could tell you but not knowing your hair, I would be afraid of tackling that one here and have you to experience disasterous results.
