There are no ghosts but there are evil spirits....the Bible doesn't use the word Ghost and even so the word was never even in existance until around the early middle ages. The evil spirits can impersonate people..read the story of Saul and the Witch of Endor and you will see. As far as there being the "spirits" of deceased people floating around aimlessly, even if they were tangible and visable images of people...the Bible never once says that you have your own individual little immortal spirit. The human is entirely flesh only alive by the power of God..or the breath of Life..His Spirit. The Bible says this over and over again many times and never once says that we have our own immortal spirit. The term soul is used to denote each of us as a single person. The term spirit is also used in the Bible in place of the words used for emotion or feelings...people often believed that emotions or state of health was due to an unclean spirit such as fatigue or uneasyness or fear...which is true..because these things do not belong to God. So...no there are no "ghosts". Love in Christ, ~J~ <><

What is a ghost according to Christians? A ghost is an evil spirit; you cannot assume a ghost to be a good spirit, because good spirit cannot be found in our world which is ruled by the Devil and Satan and all the evil spirits that belongs to him. A ghost could also be a man or a woman who was evil in his/her life and after his/her death, his/her spirit left roaming within the boundaries of the world of Satan. This is a possibility. Now if you are a Christian saved and washed by the blood of Christ, these ghosts or evil spirits cannot hurt you. No evil spirit can possibly hurt believers, although they try, but they always fail. In Job 1:13, it talks about a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came along with them. And the Lord asked Satan, "From where do you come?" Satan replied, "From going to and fro on the earth." This is a sufficient reference from the Bible that shows where evil spirits normally found. If your sister is seeing a ghost, encourage her not to fear him. The ghost becomes stronger and harmful if your sister shows any fear. You should teach your sister how to rebuke the ghost and to send him to hell where all the dead evil spirits may be found. Ghost could be found on Earth and may be seen by people who have sensitive senses. There is a possibility that this ghost could be an enemy or a bad relative who had died and tries to communicate with your sister. What ever the case may be, let her not fear him but to order him in the name of Jesus Christ to stop bothering her any more.

You will not find a good or true telling and or siting of the ghost in the bible. THe truth of the ghost is the mind site, if you will. There are spirits that are around that are lost and this occured after the bible was written as they were sent to heavens or dalmation, if you will... Ghosts are real, and they should be told to stay away and GO HOME and the spirit will leave them alone and not harm, it is best told from Montell WIlliams star guest and she says the same thing. Good luck !!

A spirit could be present, manifest among the living in Christianity, but not the en-limboed soul of some deceased person. The Old and New Testaments both speak of demonic forces as having a strong hold on the lives and minds of some human beings-culminating, sometimes, in full possesion. Conversely, angels move disguised amongst humans in the Old Testament and appear to them in person in the N.T.
If your sister is being tormented her faith will protect her although she should gather believers and pray over the location. You need no exorcism, rituals or priest, only the powerful presence of Holy Spirit, especially if two or more are gathered.

ghost means spirit of a dead person believed by SOME to visit the living and sometimes represented as a pale, almost transparent picture of the dead person. this definition is found in cambridge dictionary.
i would not say what your sister had saw is not true except what she saw is familar spirits NOT ghost. familar spirit are actually evil spirits that are capable of looking like the deceased because they are around us. they know us and the people we know. BUT they are not the dead people coming back to earth as explained like ghost.
you can read about "The Rich Man and Lazarus" in Luke 16:19-31. it is being said very clearly that the dead CANNOT go back to the earth.
hence, there is no ghost but definitly evil spirits. this spirits supposedly are angels. but because Lucifer, the head angel of the worship, when he was being thrown out of heaven, he took along the angels who are under him. thus, 1/3 of the angels are now the evil spirits; Lucifer is now known as satan, the devil.
HOWEVER, it is not good for your sister to be able to see such things. i have a friend whose sister is able to see that too, LAST TIME. after she received prayers about it, no longer she can see the evil spirits. so i would suggest your sister to seek help from her pastoral leaders or the pastors. do not delay as fear would build a barrier against her relationship with God.
let me know if you need further help. God bless you! =)

It's completely possible... I'm technically Christian and, I've seen quite a few ghosts. A ghost is just a spirit, that has unfinished business, or is too attached to the physical world because, often of a violent or, sudden death. Explore the possibilites, outside of the Christian ideas of the afterlife.

There are many kinds of Ghosts - ghostly apparitions that appear in the same spot are a recording of a past traumatic event stored in the walls. they usually occur over underground streams at the full moon when the air is cold and damp. So It is possible to be a christian and see a ghost.

I don't need to quote the Bible. Christianity already has a ghost--the Holy Ghost.

They cannot coexist because "ghost" is a "trick" of Satan and christians do not or are not supposed to believe in ghosts. These are two different things: darkness and light. Your sister just has to pray and she'll be fine.

Ghosts are what the Bible refers to as "Familiar Spirits". Lots of references to them in the old testament. The Bible forbids such practices, such as trying to contact the dead, etc.

They're called "Familiar" because they can shape-shift (take on any form), and are familiar with every minute detail of the person they are "immitating".

This is also the same spirit that's involved in Psychic circles (the real ones -- not those fake ones).
