stay inside and lock the doors, turn out the lights and keep away from the windows. Then call the police or send a email if you don't have a phone.

call the police and let them know the details- what time, how many shots, what street you live on, etc. They will send a car to patrol the area and make sure everything's okay. Or, they will be able to tell you if others have reported the same thing, or if a police vehicle is already aware of the situation.

The obvious thing to do is to call the local police and tell them what you heard,however there are a number of things which may sound similar to gunshots from a distance.These include nail guns and so on.

charge your weapon, determine the direction that the incoming round came from. notify your squad leader, then follow orders. also make sure everything within the designated kill zone is treated according to the ROE and LOAC.
