i'm just saying they accept the u.s. virgin islands and purto rico but act as though that mexico ,witch you could drive to by the way is unacceptable.i feel that in a growing nation hundreds of years old some changes should have been made,we live here for freedom but as time goes on isn't your freedom being comprimised at the integrity of the wealthy isn't it as though the rich make the rules and the middle/ poor class have no voice.

Actually, at the close of the US/Mexico war, our army was at Mexico City. Some feel that it was a mistake not to just take the entire country, but the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo basically established the border as you see it today...now, Mexico wants to renegotiate, because for the last 150 years, they haven't advanced nearly like we have....now they're looking over the fence and crying and stuff...

You ask more than one question.

No, the rich do not rule, they do, however gloat over the stupidity of the masses. Any rich man knows that without the working class, his life would be a miserable hell. The problem with the middle class is that we do not know who we are. We look at our neighbors and gripe because they are too rich or are they are trash. Let us assume that the middle class is say, $25,000-$150,000 a year. That is a big range, but I would bet that nearly 90% of all Americans fit in that income bracket. Now, if we chose not to purchase the items we produce, we only hurt ourselves because ultimately we would be out of a job. This is the problem with purchasing foreign goods. WE are killing ourselves by spending our hard earned dollars sending some foreign kid to college and some foreign government tax revenue. If WE CHOOSE to buy only the products we produce, the 'rich guys' would move their factories back to the good ole US of A instead of sending it elsewhere. So really, we are screwing ourselves because it is the middle class who do most of the purchasing.

Second, If you have a family of 4 and make under $35000 a year you pay very little tax at all, and no income tax probably if you own your own home. If we lived in a 'cool country' like Canada or Finland you would pay 25% or even more of all your income to the government for your benefits. This would reduce your income by say, up to $10,000/year. The so called rich, however, pay almost ALL of the income taxes in America to cover the costs for the so called poor who pay absolutely nothing for income tax.

Let us assume I am rich, that I make $200,000 this year. I will pay about 50,000 in taxes, not counting my local taxes and gas and purchases. Now, if were poor, and I made $24,000, with my family, I would get an earned income benefit refund of about $4000, or nearly one dollar for every six I earn. If there is one rich guy for each poor guy, where does the other $46,000 go? To roads, defense, schools, municipalities, states, projects, Universities, the Arts, Research, health care, government salaries, everything else. The rich guy pays for all that. They poor guy pays nothing, squat, nada, and even might get something back. Overall that is pretty fair.

Now, if most Americans are middle class, WHY DO WE VOTE FOR RICH DUDES TO GOVERN US????? We need to get some common sense farmers, factory workers, construction guys, policemen and teachers to be representing us, because that is who most of us are. Why do we vote for the same old rich guys???, because we like the glitz and glamour and we like to be slaves to our own stupidity, just like we are when we buy foreign goods.

Democrat/Republican, they are both the same. Neither party cares about us, they only care about power and lining their own pockets. When they will change this view will be when we take the initiative to study the issues and vote for the guy who just makes sense because he/she says what they believe, not the spin doctor and Imus or Rush dudes nor the Hollywood pop star or CNN or FOX darling that they THINK they should be...

You see, in the end, we are in charge of our own destiny and we screw ourselves up by choosing who the elite want us to choose

Ummm....do you remember reading about the Mexican-American war? The Alamo? I think that Mexico isnt for sale or up for annexation right now... But on the other hand, maybe the US should annex the more prosperous, mineral wealthy Canada, yes, that would be better.
