There are two "sects" but I am not privy to the other one. Here's what I know... u can check www.lds.org. It lists the basic beliefs, etc of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Pray about it, ok?

I don't understand your question. Do you mean information about the "Mormon Church" or do you mean information about the sects that split off from the Mormon Church and started their own teachings?

By the way half of the answers to your questions, I would totally disregard because they are so full of bull.

yes, there is a book called the devil and the followers, you will find Mormon listed there. It is a cult for money, as is the Jehovah Witnesses. Do not believe me? Ask the elders of either church for the financial records, they have to produce them under USC 362,

There is only one Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Other small splinter groups may have members that once belonged to the church, but are no longer affiliated with the church in any way.

There is no such thing as a mormon sect. The mormon church is one unified church, called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored Church of Jesus Christ upon the earth, led by Christ through modern revelation. Among the many traits we share with the early Christians is that we are spoken against by many, labeled as members of a cult or sect, a group that has departed from accepted "mainstream" views and beliefs. In terms of the basic dictionary definition, we are a cult - that is, a religious organization. In terms of the special definitions our critics use to exclude us from Christianity and to frighten potential converts, those definitions fit the early Christians and the prophets and apostles of the Bible as well as they fit us. If what we have in common with early Christianity makes us a cult, then we're glad to be in such company - and I hope you'll become a fellow "cultist" as well. Sorry, we're not going to brainwash you, put you in isolation chambers, or make you wear special tennis shoes, but you will find that the Lord has opportunities for you to serve others and to grow in faith as you follow Christ with all your heart.

Here is a list of our basic beliefs:

1 We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.

3 We believe that through the atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

It must be repeated that “these articles are not and were not intended to be a complete and final exposition of beliefs…” [6] The articles do not discuss many facets of Latter-day Saint belief such as “celestial marriage, salvation for the dead, temple work in all its phases, the resurrection, and degrees of glory in the eternal worlds.” [7] Yet, they still serve as a useful introduction to Latter-day Saint beliefs.
