okay, there is a painting in my grandma's house in Romania, and i really want to know who it's by.

it's a scene on a shore, the colors of the painting are very sunset-ish. i remember orange & black were main colors. its a simple piece, you can see the water, and on the shore there is a ship that is small, maybe more than one ship in the picture im not sure.
i remember there was a man in it but i'm not sure of that either.
i know for sure there is a little ship on the shore and its in a sunset tint.
i was thinking Van Gogh, but i'm really not sure.
please give me your ideas on what this painting could be & who it's by. if i see it, i'll KNOW it's the painting in her room.

links to what you think it is are appreciated, but not neccessary!
just a title of a painting AND/or the artist is fine!

THANKS SO MUCH!
if you give me the right info, thats 10 pts for you.
thanks again!

Hard to identify just by what the artist paint. There's different technics in brush strokes, and use of color contrasts. You should go online, and study Van Gogh's paintings, and see if there's similarities, or difference, if you think it is by him...A picture worth a thousand words, we'll have to see the picture to give you more suggestions.

If there is no signature and/or date, likely it is not an important piece and the artist may not be identifiable. Sunsets and lakes are popular subjects for beginners. Without more information, or an image, I doubt if anyone online could provide a real clue.

thats not nearly enough information to identify a painting. Have you tried one of the online galleries like artonline and browse by artist until you find the right style?
