My grandfather is co signing for me but he is unable to leave his house. Is he required to sign papers in person or can he have the papers mailed to him and then mail them back?

State laws vary, so do lender laws & agreements. You'll have to check with the lender first , they will be able to answer, they will also want to see your grandfathers credit application., as well as yours

It may depend in which state you live in. In California, the dealer/lender can fedex the paperwork to your grandfather, then fedex back. You can call the lender,or dealer and ask to make sure in your state.

ask whoever has the papers if they can come to your grandfathers' home to witness him signing them , but be aware that your grandfather is going guarantor for you and should he die before the item is paid for you will be responsible for the entire amount of the loan
