No, you're very obviously *not* educated on this!!

Israel responds to terrorism by targeting the perpetrators of terror instead of innocent civilians. It is actually against the Geneva Conventions to hide combatants among a civilian population. By placing terrorists and the people who send them to perform their murderous acts in cities and villages, it is the terrorist leaders themselves who are breaking international rules about the proper way to conduct a war and who are directly responsible for the deaths of civilians.

You also can't believe the numbers you read in the papers. In the case of Israelis killed, there are outside observers who can attest to the number of dead. In the Palestinian Authority and Arab countries, front page headlines state "100 killed" one day (based only on claims by interested parties), then 2 days later, an amendment is included on page 23 saying "well...it was only 6, not 100 as earlier reported". Also, the only numbers that "count" in Israel are those killed in the previous 24 hours. Lebanon has been bombing the north of Israel for 6 *years*, not for a few days or weeks.

The problem is that the terrorists set up their main bases in civilian hospitals so that they will be 'protected' by using ignorant people as meat shields. Israel is trying to scare the crap out of those people and get them to leave so that they can strike directly at the terrorists.

There is a huge difference between coordinated air strikes at the heart of a terrorist group's operation headquarters and firing random missiles into civilian cities.

Israel does not want Hezbollah to stay, so what they are doing is killing innocent Lebanese people so that the Lebanese citizens blame Hezbollah and start a civil war in Lebanon. with all Israel smart missiles and bombs they could have eliminated Hezbollah weeks ago. but they wanted to kill children to create the civil war.

Israel is trying to get rid of Hezbollah once and for all (of course it won't work- they will just pop up elsewhere). But they must do something - if the US had to deal with car/bus bombings on a daily basis we would understand better. Luckily we don't.
