I am merely wondering why it is that you like being Christian. Is it merely knowing that you'll never go to hell? Is it because you want to make the world a better place? Is it because you like knowing that you'll always have a friend to talk to? I'm sure there are other things. Tell me!

God is AWESOME! I mean, well... he is God afterall.

For me, I guess it's partly what he's done for me. If Christ is a crutch, then bring him on! Because without him, I would have been a basket case and probably would have offed myself a long time ago.

As for those who think only the "needy" types should hang out with Jesus, well, you just haven't ever had to face the challage of living that type of life. I mean, yeah, I suppose even as a Christian I could still get a lot of enjoyment out of life without really rising above the mediocre, but...

The truth is, I have never faced so much challange, so much adventure, so many heart pounding, risk-taking, have-no-idea- what-God's-got- up-his-sleeve- for-me-next- keep-me-dancing- on-my-toes experiences until I decided to stop trying to do it my way and gave in totally to doing things His way.

I have experienced the passion and anguish of trusting myself completely to someone I can't even see, hoping that I won't fall flat on my face and the complete exhilaration of discovering that even when I fell, He not only was there to pick up the pieces, but somehow he inexplicable and invariable was able to put them back together far better that I could ever have arranged at my most masterfully controling manipulative best.

Have you ever fled humility in terror? Have your ever shed your pride in utter exhaustion? Have you ever discovered the elation of still finding your identity intact, scrubbed clean of the ragged "pride" you wore and cloaked in the dignity granted by being clothed in acceptance? Accepted by the God of the Universe! Forgiven for the idiocy of trying to trade fleeting pleasure and cover-my-a** self-righteousness for unfalthomable joy, unrelenting love.

What a fool I've been and sometimes still am!

NO! I would not trade this incredible up-and-down rollercoaster, this satisfyingly epic journey they blithley call "Mere Christianity" for anything. No, I willingly give up life itself... for Him.

Thanks for reminding me how worthwhile my life has become since I sold it all back to the one who paid for all my debts.*

(*Yeah, that's Christianese for "traded His death for mine because my sins against God deserved the death penalty").

Getting to know Jesus better with each passing day. He's so amazing! I'm so blown away by His compassion, His mercy, His wisdom, and His power. He teaches me so much cool stuff every day through His word and throughout the day as I encounter different people and situations. He's always there and so incredibly wonderful that I can't imagine living life without Him. I don't have a religion. I have a beautiful relationship with the Lord of Creation.

By striving to model my life after someone (Jesus) that was so tender with everyone (prostitutes, thieves, beggars, the sick, etc), I can grasp the beauty of seeing good in all people. Not because I think I will go to Heaven (I don't believe in that anyway), but because of the astounding love that was shown to all by this man is so exemplary that I want to strive to be kind to others and the very essence of what we deem as "good".

Whatever your beliefs.. he was at least a historical figure to you... and if you can be believe in Astrology or Spirits roaming the earth talking to people.... why is it so hard to believe that one man performed miracles in God's name?

I believe it is a beautiful thing to open your heart and love and give ... and sometimes people try to squash that joy with their callous outlook on life, but that is where I have empathy... NOT pity, but empathy for them and try to understand what they have been through in their life.

Ultimately, my desire is that maybe one day, I will live with others in harmony- Forever.

being a christian should never be a get-out-of-hell-free card. It should be pleasure to know that you serve the only, one, true, just God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth. I don't believe that we should serve God for any other reason besides we were made to do it. We were made to glorify God. We find true freedom in laying down our pride, selfishness, and greed to Him. When Christians say we "die to Christ" or "Follow His will", we don't mean to convey bondage. Anyone that you talk to that has laid their life to Christ and decided to follow His will and not ours, will tell you it is the best decision they ever made.

Hope this helps you in your quest for the truth! God bless you and your family!

Heaven, Hell, neither here nor there for me. It's about the Creative Force dying and then resurrecting that gets me. Giving us all another chance to live life instead of fighting and killing each other over stupid things. Giving us Paradise here, if we'll take it.

Big IF, hoh.

I am a christian or 2 years now, and eversince i saw the truth, felt His presence and knew His peace...it changed me in so many ways...you see everything in a different way, you see the reason why you are here on earth, you see the future, you have this unexplainable peace in your soul....nothing, nothing compares to the feeling when you realy know you believe in God

Comfort.
Comfort in knowing God loves me and I will be in His presence for all eternity.
Comfort know I will see all those that I miss (like my nephew).
Comfort when I feel all is lost and I have no one knowing I always have my Lord to turn to.
Comfort that no matter how hard things can get, how mad bad or misguided I can get, and that although I fall short of the Glory of God He still loves me.

The only thing that can comfort my sinful soul is the knowledge that my sins will be forgiven. My joy is my God.
