Well I woke up early at like 7am one day which i never do but i saw a short part of some show on the national geographic channel it was called speed and it showed a guy in a corvette doing 166mph and i think he eventually did 200 but i went to sleep but he might of been in Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, or California because it was a 2 laned road which you could see miles down so it was safe sunny and you could totally see other cars or animals so is it legal any where in these states seeing as there's barely any cops on these deserted roads which again are safe. so is it legal to street race there?

If it was on National Geographic I'm sure it was a race in closed road. They do that in some places where people get together and hold organized race in closed course with emergency ambulance and all. It's illegal to race anywhere in open road. I'm sure out in Montana or Nevada desert some where I'm sure you can do 200 and not get caught, but still illegal. I don't think it's safe to go 200 in desert at all. If you flip over and get trapped who's gona get you?

Craziest race on street is probably Gumball 3000 which is 3000 mile race on public road. Drivers in the race are essentially breaking the law and flying across country fast as they can and many get their license revoked and still continue with the race. Some of them may wreck a Ferrari and just leave it abandon. Just a thing to do if you got some money and lot of free time and not worried about losing license.

May be they were showing Gumball 3000 on TV.

No not at all and damn cops can even ticket you for racing if you so much as look over at the driver next to you and take off at more than snail speed, supposedly it is an invitation to race.

The shows you see are on closed roads where there is no other traffic around. If you are saying you saw other cars on the same road this speed demon was on then that is totally not cool and they endangered that other persons life. It would have to be another racer or someone who probably signed a waiver to be in the video.

go to race tracks if you want to race. Don't race on roads trust me because if something goes wrong on the roads while you streetrace you will regret it your whole life. No there are no legal areas in the US where you can street race.

Its illegal no matter what time it is... You got to go to a track..They usually have them in most states..

And that show, they probably closed off part of the highway to test the vehicle and pretended it was open.. Kinda like how snoop dog pretends to smoke weed on TV.

It's neither legal nor safe to street race. Take it to the track if you want to race.

listen you bozo. It's not safe and it's not legal. Do you think just because there are no cops around that makes it legal? hell no... it's still illegal, it's just that there's no one around to enforce the law. and no, it's NEVER safe!!!
