totally gross.

And yes, you can steam cook in a microwave. Don't listen to these morons.

Place the chicken breast on a plate, with a small amount of water. Place another plate on top of the chicken. Microwave on high until the chicken is cooked to your liking.

to properly steam in a microwave, place something (saucer, sliced veggies, etc) in the bottom of a microwave safe container, like glass pie plate. Place the chicken on top of the "something" and add water up to, but not touching the bottom of the chicken. Tightly cover the container with plastic wrap. . Start the microwave to cooking at full power. You will see the plastic expand, and it may eventually pop. In any case, be very careful when opening the microwave, as steam will escape, and if the plastic has no popped, allow the chicken to cool till the plastic wrap has shrank due to cooling. you can insert a thermometer to check the temp of the chicken or you can cut into it to see if it is done. A good trick is to add herbs and spices to the water that you are steaming with.

You most certainly can steam cook using a microwave. I don't really recomend it, but you didn't invite me to dinner, so I'll stop b*tching...... As the chef before me explained, place a small amount of water on a plate, place another smaller plate, like a saucer on top of the plate with the water. Season your chicken with salt and pepper, you can even add dried spices to the water for an aromatic steam enhancing the flavor of your chicken. Paprika, dried thyme, oregano, etc, etc.... wrap the entire contraption tightly in cooking grade cling film, making sure to poke serval small vent holes in the plastic. This will hold the steam, but prevent it from blowing up in the microwave. Try several times cooking slightly under to avoid over cooking. The time will depend on the power of your outlet, microwave wattage, size and thickness of the chicken to be cooked. Also make sure that you do not use plates with metal edges.... I assume that you already knew that, just wanted to be thorough. Good luck and Bon appetit
