I have a bunch of home movies, etc that I would like to transfer to DVD (they take up too much space). I use a Mac, I have a digital tuner, but iTele can't see the VCR (I thought that would work). Anyone have any ideas?

I am in Australia - I don't think we have circuit city.
I am talking about VHS videos.
The idea of getting an external DVD recorder seems like a good idea - I'll have to see if I can borrow one.
Any other ideas?
Thanks!

Get a DVD recorder, and feed the output of the VCR to one of the recorder's inputs. Start playing your tape, then hit "record" on the DVD recorder.

I have over 600 videos to convert to DVD and I was doing the digital capture and burn DVD route. Took way too long to capture, render & burn. I finally have gone to a Panasonic DVD recorder with a VCR combo tabletop deck. Works wonders, easy, painless. Insert, press 2 buttons, come back when done. What could be simpler. No more setting in front the computer.

TRy by connecting it through Pinnacle AV/DV card.
