Hear ya! And many anti-smokers do lots of things worse for health than smoking. Smoking is not the most evil thing you can do. Some times a diet pill will kill you quicker. Alcohol can ruin your whole life in a single evening. Ah but, you know, we don't see things until we see things...

You know, I've always wondered the same thing. I don't smoke, and I do think that smoking should be kept outside of public buildings (it's your right to smoke, but it's also my right not to smoke), but I can't understand the Truth commercials and such. It's not as though people who smoke don't understand that it can be very, very harmful, and even if it is, that doesn't mean it's okay to stop others from doing something just because you don't agree with it.

I work in an office, where smoking is aloud. I am the only one of the staff who don't smoke.

I know you all know what it does to you, but i don't care, your life, your choice, I make bad desicions to at times.

But when I have to work and be hurt by the rest of you inconsiderates. After working at this place for a year and a half, I have constant sore throat, I get asthma attacks often, not to mention the feral smell of my washing.

I have no choice but to work there if i want to pay me rent, but people like oyu have a choice if you want to hurt others.

My doctor tells me to leave my workplace, but I don't have that choice, you people could smoke outside, or on breaks, not in my face, in an unventilated office.

dang, you make me feel all religous now. I feel "dirty" for thinking that I make a difference. Wait. Maybe I do. I am a teacher, and I tell kids to knock it off all the time (the ones I know smoke). Maybe they will listen?

ps: you hurt me more with second hand smoke than you do yourself. So if you go out back, I don't have a problem with it. It's fools that light up in city parks and ski hill lift lines that light my burner. I can't stand the smell of smoke. It's nasty. So if you don't punish me, I don't mind if you punish yourself, deal?

The commercials you are referring to are aimed at people who have not started the nasty habit that you insist on keeping. No one cares if you want to die young or spend your remaining years hauling oxygen tanks around...just don't pollute our air while you're at it!
