Could be worms, but doubtful-Since she is an older dog I would go to the vet. Sometimes serious illnesses strike dogs at an older age- Not to scare you but many cancers have weight loss as the first symptom. Especially if she is still eating. Vet time. Good Luck.

It most likely would be some illness causing that. I had to take my dog to the vet recently as he lost weight noticeably and was still eating and being active as usual. I didn't like what I was seeing either. I found out after they examined him they suspected proctitis. They gave him an antibiotic for 15 days (one a day that I hid in peanut butter). He ate them all up and then seemed improved. He got it from a bacterial source the vet seems to feel. Hope your dog feels better soon. I like it best when my dog looks like they used to, healthier.

yes. it can be due to your dog's old age.
i think it's best to take her to the vet. if she's not very active, she'd be gaining weight & not losing weight.
she may need some blood work to be taken/drawn to check her health.
i'd advise this asap. if u wait too long, it may be too late(god forbid). maybe it's nothing, maybe not urgent & maybe serious.
it's not going to hurt right? better to be safe then sorry.
could be cancer, could be an infection, can be worms. it could or couldn't be these.
the vet would know.

The first thing to check for would be worms in the dogs stool. Next check her temperature. Dehydration, intestinal blockage, or is she where you can check to see if she is throwing up her food? I know how costly a veterinarian can be... BUT... This is a very dangerous place for your animal to be, don't screw around, take her to the vet.

You should take her to the vet! This could be kidney or liver disease, cancers, infectious disease. Although cats tend to be hyperthyroid and dogs hypothyroid, it can be reversed. You should make an appointment as soon as possible. Prevention is the best medicine.
