My favourite quote is.. "My faith is solely a matter between myself and my maker" - Gandhi.

AFAIC if you are a good person you have nothing to fear.

Hell is solely a concept from the Abrahamic faiths (Islam, Jewish & Christianity) other faiths have different afterlife myths.

Honey, we are ALL going to go to 'hell' when we die. Its simply because hell is only the grave where all people go when they die. Whether it is a burial at sea or a box in a hole or a bunch of ashes in an urn, we all go to 'hell'. And the Bible tells us CLEARLY that when we die, we are conscious of NOTHING. ( Ecc. 9:4, 5).
Look at it LOGICALLY_-- IF when you die, God sent you to Heaven or Hell, what would then be the point of Judgement day? I mean, seriously, would he need to judge everyone twice? It doesn't make sense. Hell is MAN'S invention . Yes, the Bible does mention a place of fiery destruction, but it is not a place where God sends human souls to burn in torment forever. Jehovah is a kind, loving God and not one that would do such a thing to the people that he loves and that he created. No! He wants all of mankind to love him and to gain everlasting life, that is why he sent his son Jesus as a sacrifice to buy back all of our lives if we put faith in him.

You don't have to be 'religious' to appreciate what God has given you. It would help to acknowledge what he has done for you and given you, but that does not mean that you have to become some kind of a raving zealot and scream out from a pulpit his praises or anything. LOL But, in light of all that he has given you, don't you think maybe a little appreciation might be in order? I know that I thank him everyday for the senses he gave me, the wonderful planet I live on and the people I love around me.

But as for going to hell, yeah, we all go there when we die, so don't sweat it too bad. At least feel comforted knowing it isn't a place of eternal torment. Its just a place to take a good, long nap until we are called forth during the resurrection to be judged worthy of living forever in a paradise Earth or not. And if not? Well, then the destruction after that is final and we won't remember anything anyway. * shrugs *

If you want to talk more about it, just email me and we can chat about it on AOL IM or something. I don't mind.

I hate the word religious because it can mean anything. However the bible clearly states that unless you believe Jesus Christ died for your sins and ask him into your life and walk with him. Having a personal relationship with him, then yes hell is where you would go. However, God doesn't want anyone to go to hell. He doesn't wish that on anyone. You choose the path you will walk in life and where you will end up. Free Will! We all have it. Can we say you are going to hell? NO but the bible states unless you believe and repent then that is your destination.

No, people go to hell because of one thing and one thing only, that they did not believe! The bible says, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. All of your sin, (past, present, and Future sins) are forgiven!

John 3:15-16, so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish [eternal security], but have eternal life.

Ephesians 2:8-9, For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that [salvation] not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

REMEMBER, IT'S SPIRITUALITY not RELGION that God is looking for! EVEN Jesus attacked the major Religions of his day!

"Hell" in and of itself is a tool of control for religion. Since the times of the Etruscans, the dual images of a peaceful afterlife for good behavior versus a horrible afterlife for bad behavior have been used in conjunction with one another in order to motivate a group of people to act in a certain way. If you aren't acting in that way, then both sides of the equation - the promise of love and the threat of condemnation - are used in order to persuade you to a certain viewpoint.

So yes, in general most religions would probably condemn you to whatever hell they have if you don't follow their chosen path of behavior. Sucks, doesn't it?

God does not require anyone to follow a religion. All you need is God, follow the commandments seek forgiveness for your sins, repent, and turn from sin. Only you can make the choice of which path you choose, heaven or hell, God sends no one to hell.

Jesus wasn't religious, he had hard word to say to the religious leaders of his time. Christianity is all about a relationship with God our living God. But the decision is on everyone own shoulders, what are you going to do about Jesus. Trust him and reject his offer.

It's not about being "religious"...

It is about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Sitting in a church wil not save a soul....

But, receiving the mercy and forgiveness which God so graciously and freely gave to us will.

Not sure, but I am sure I am going there with you!

GO THE MORAL ATHEISTS!

(Though if you are not an atheist that is fine by me)

Apparently we might go to the outermost circle of hell, the Circle Of The Virtous Unbaptised... a quiet place of sorrow but not suffering.

See you there!

Why do you care about hell if your not religious? Then you shouldn't believe it exists.
