heres what I say : theres enough wallmarts and mcdonalds in suburban hell for everyone. I also love the idea of this land being flooded by dark skinned and spicy people who freak out and frighten all the paranoid white people who swear they arent racist while clutching thier stupid ugly handbags and breaking a sweat.

Most of my family are Italian immigrants, and while there isn't as much prejudice towards us (anymore), I can still relate.

if you look back on American history, every surge of immigrants has been discriminated against.

Think about:
The first black people in America were slaves.
The Irish often had to take the toughest jobs just to put a little food on the table, and often times weren't allowed to vote.
German immigrants were frowned upon and called Nazi's. (post WWII)
Italians were always thought of as criminals, and once again had to take the jobs no one else wanted.

Most mass surges of people have always been discriminated against.

However; illegal immigration is still illegal. I understand the want for a better life, but can't people do it the legal way?

Illegal immigrants take jobs legal citizens want, and then the illegal immigrants don't have to pay taxes.

And while some people would be happy not to pay taxes, is it fair for everyone else who IS legal to have to pay FOR them?

Marisol if this argument were true wouldn't the more needier countries that are war torn and worst off then Mexico have their chance? America accommodated thousands of illegals in 1986 I'd like to know when is it the next countries turn? Can you tell why Mexico who is not at war is considered to be the country that acts like it just won the lotto and the rest of countries it's to bad? Why is that ?

No. I do hate that legal immigrants are being pushed aside so that illegal immigrants, under a false guise of starving, are demanding amnesty and the same rights as those legal immigrants who follow our laws. I get tired of saying this, but it is all illegal immigrants that need to go back to their countries and come back here legally. It is not about a specific race.

You are stupid. I WOULD do it, but let me tell you what I would not do:
-March through the streets demanding something I have no right to
-Wave the Mexican flag like it is a place to be proud of
-Form racist groups like La Raza

Those are just a few of the things I would not do, if I came to a country illegally to make a better life for myself....

Of course there are people who make this issue a racial issue. It is not only Mexicans who are illegal immigrants but they are the most vociferous. I disagree with illegal immigration. Why can't they make their own country better instead of sneaking into another country while breaking that country's law?

I would say that the average person, would if they thought they could get away with it, act illegally. A perfect example of this is speeders...how many people speed, run stop signs, change lanes/turn without signaling...these are minor laws but it just shows that the will to commit the crime is there...

It's illegal immigrants. If we break the law we expect to suffer the consequences. We don't expect to be able to demand to get even more preference and complete immunity for our actions just because our crime improved our standard of living at the expense of others.

Making their lives better is not the issue. Coming here and not being willing to learn the language, become legal, pay taxes, and showing allegience to thier new country, THAT IS THE ISSUE. I have no promblem with them wanting to improve thier lives, that is fine, but by not trying to abide by the laws they are abusing the rest of us.

yah. I hate it when people skip past the political issues of the immigration debate and go straight for the races, especially Mexicans.
